Is it just me, or does the energy around sports change so drastically once the "official" preparations start? It’s that weird time of year where everyone acts like everything is a life-or-death situation, even though we’re still months away from anything actually mattering on the scoreboard.

I remember back in college, my buddies and I would spend entire weekends obsessing over roster moves and practice schedules, acting like we were part of the coaching staff. It’s fun, sure, but it can also be a massive drain. You start getting emotionally invested in guys you’ve never even seen play live, and then a single injury or a bad practice session can ruin your entire week.

I love the intensity, but I sometimes wonder if we overdo the anticipation. We spend all this time building up these massive expectations, only to realize that the actual season is a completely different beast.

Does anyone else find themselves getting overly anxious during this period, or do you just ride the wave and enjoy the speculation?
