I’ve been looking at my strategy for next season, and I honestly feel like I’m losing my mind a little bit. Every single year, there’s this massive debate about whether you should go aggressive early or just wait and see what falls into your lap. It feels like the "safe" play changes every season based on whatever the latest trend is, and if you miss the window, you're stuck with leftovers.
I remember back in 2019, I went all-in on a specific high-upside pick, thinking I had cracked the code. I ended up spending half my season staring at the waiver wire because my "sure thing" couldn't stay healthy for more than three weeks. It's exhausting how much mental energy goes into just trying to build a foundation that won't crumble by November.
Do you guys tend to play it safe with a reliable veteran, or are you more of a "high risk, high reward" type of drafter?
