Any recommendations for a good cooler?

Quick question here...

Does anyone actually use a laptop cooling pad? Like, how much does it even help the hardware, and am I really going to see a massive difference in temps with one versus just letting it run bare?

It might help, but honestly, you just need to prop the thing up on something—even a stack of books works—just to get some airflow moving so all those hot surfaces and vents aren't choked off.

If the laptop's internal cooling system is already trash, these external fans aren't going to do much for you.
