Hey there!
I’m looking for some advice or solid recommendations on picking up a new laptop—something that can actually handle running heavy-duty software like CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks without breaking a sweat. I'll be doing a lot of drafting, rendering, and 3D modeling, so I definitely need some serious horsepower under the hood. My budget is sitting right around $3,000.
I was originally eyeing a MacBook Pro with a Core i7,
Thanks in advance!

I was looking at a Dell MacBook Pro Core i7.
Thanks in advance.

I have an X1 Yoga from work. It’s a great machine, and the Carbon is the premium version. They're good laptops overall, but they aren't exactly a bang-for-your-buck deal when it comes to raw power. They're pure business machines—no dedicated GPU.

If you want serious performance in a small frame, everyone looks at the Razer Blade 14:

Just not sure how Intel graphics hold up in those apps, and I'm not seeing any Nvidia models paired with this current processor generation. This one has the previous gen, which still isn't bad though.

The 6800/6900HS chips are way better for multithreaded tasks than a Core i7.

I was just talking to a buddy of mine about that Asus today—he was basically like, "Why are you even overthinking this? Just grab it and go."...
Thanks again!

👍👍

I honestly think that G7 is the best performance laptop in its class.
