I’ve noticed a bunch of people on a few different subforums trying to drop massive plot summaries for movies and media, but they don't seem to realize how much of a jerk that is to everyone else. It’s honestly just rude. It’s like if you were talking about an Agatha Christie novel and some guy just jumps in with—well, he's just being a total jerk.

Some folks try to get around it by using white text for spoilers, but let's be real: that’s useless if you aren't using a white background or skin on the site.

On mobile devices (specifically iOS, and I’m pretty sure Android too), web browsers have this built-in feature where if you use a tag like

some text

, it hides the content until you actually tap it. It works just like clicking that little [+] icon to expand a folder in Explorer, or opening up a subforum. But on PCs, we don't have that functionality.

Is there any way we could technically bake something like that into vBulletin?

Honestly, we should probably just migrate this whole forum to a new platform. I guess Reddit would be my top pick—it’s open-source and free, plus you can always pay them to handle the extra stuff if you want.

To accommodate those who use high-contrast backgrounds for objective reasons (like vision issues), a solution could be placing spoilers inside one of three 'code wraps':

I mean, technically we wouldn't even have to move anywhere—we’d just swap out that ancient vBulletin software for something modern that actually gets regular security patches and updates. There are like ten decent options out there, and from what I've seen, Reddit is free, which is a plus. It looks pretty slick too—pretty responsive on both mobile and desktop, I guess.
So, I guess they just need to migrate the entire history and all the user data over to that new software—if that even works.

I guess people just love hanging out in digital echo chambers—it’s basically like walking into a massive Reddit thread that never ends. Just endless noise, I suppose.

Don't touch a thing!
When something actually works halfway decent around here, you've gotta leave it alone. In America, things have a nasty habit of just rotting away or vanishing into thin air. Just look at any decent local diner or mom-and-pop shop... they're all gone now... lol
