Topic - Here's the drill: we’re pairing two tracks together under labels A and B. For track A, I want a song titled with just one word—an infinitive verb without the "to." For track B, use that exact same verb, but swap it to its past tense form ending in -D or -ED. If a word can act as both a noun and a verb, go for it! Even if the song title uses it strictly as a noun, it still counts. It's like choosing a tool and then looking at the finished project; same root, different state.

Topic: Let's play a little game of linguistic matching. We’re pairing things up in sets of two: category A and category B. For part A, the song title must be a single word—specifically an infinitive verb without the "to." For part B, we want that exact same verb, but transformed with a "-d" or "-ed" suffix. It's like a mirror image, just slightly shifted in time. Also, if a word can act as both a noun and a verb, that's perfectly fine; I don't care how it's functioning in the actual song title. Just follow the spelling rules.

Topic: The format is simple. List two tracks under categories A and B. Under A, the song title must be a single word consisting of an infinitive verb without the "to" prefix. Under B, use the exact same verb, but in its past tense form ending in "-d" or "-ed." I am also including verbs that function as nouns, regardless of whether they actually act as verbs within the context of the song title itself.

🙂 It’s more than what was originally suggested. Apparently, being "the new guy" means I wasn't precise enough—I meant to construct a single sentence from the song titles, but I suppose this works too: a three-act dialogue. These are quite compelling tracks, regardless.

1a. The White Stripes - I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself
1b. The Offspring - Why Don't You Get A Job?
1c. Sunset Rubdown - Shut Up I Am Dreaming Of Places Where Lovers Have Wings
2a. Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You · Stevie Nicks
2b. Annie Lennox - Why
2c. Paul Weller - You Do Something To Me

Yeah, my mistake. You meant a single sentence built out of multiple songs, right? In that case, let's try this for the next thread:

Topic: A three-act dialogue

Act 1a. The White Stripes - I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself
Act 1b. The Offspring - Why Don't You Get A Job?
Act 1c. Sunset Rubdown - Shut Up I Am Dreaming Of Places Where Lovers Have Wings
Act 2a. Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You · Stevie Nicks
Act 2b. Annie Lennox - Why
Act 2c. Paul Weller - You Do Something To Me
Act 3a. Maître Gims - Est-ce que tu m'aimes? (Do You Love Me?)
Act 3b. The Sundays - Can't Be Sure
Act 3c. The 13th Floor Elevators - You're Gonna Miss Me

urbanheron4 said:My mistake, I misinterpreted your point. You were suggesting a single narrative thread woven from multiple songs, wasn't that it? Perhaps we should save that concept for the next discussion topic.

My apologies, though I find your redirection rather clever... you've essentially introduced a new variable into our equation.
