Look, I have nothing against Kim Deal, really. But in my book? Paz Lenchantin is a total upgrade for the Pixies. Just look at her resume—who she’s played with and where she’s been (check out that guy mentioned in post 1a). If you want real substance, follow her career. And hey, maybe step outside your bubble for a second? Check out some bands from Japan or Indonesia; their bassists are incredibly charismatic within those local scenes...

Just look at her resume—look at who she’s shared a stage with (check out the guy mentioned under 1a)—she has the pedigree. You need to step outside your bubble and actually pay attention to the scene in Japan or Indonesia; their bassists possess a level of charisma that is absolutely magnetic within those musical landscapes...>

Ha, I suppose we can find common ground there, though I’d argue that charisma doesn't necessarily correlate with technical caliber. Just because someone stands out visually or presence-wise doesn't mean they're outperforming everyone else in terms of pure skill—let's be clear, everything here is top-tier. Unless, of course, your definition of "quality" is strictly limited to how much charisma a musician can pack into their instrumental performance...
