Rachel Patel49 said:Just a small correction on the previous post: "don't" actually stands for "do not"... that's two words if you count them up.😁

I have to respectfully disagree there. Technically, it functions as a single unit. If you look at various discussions online regarding whether contractions should be classified as one word or two, the consensus seems to lean toward treating them as a single lexical item. https://www.reddit.com/r/grammar/com...ered_one_word/
It reminds me of how we handle certain compound adverbs in English—words like "anyway," "sometimes," or "anywhere"—which are essentially combinations of two parts but are written as one cohesive word.
But honestly, it’s not a huge deal... everything is fine.

Topic: Let's play a little game. Post two songs labeled a/b. For song A, pick a title with exactly two words. For song B, go with a three-word title. The twist? The first two words of song A have to be identical to the first two words of song B. Just like matching socks, but for your playlist.

01a Wilson Phillips - Hold On
01b Electric Light Orchestra - Hold On Tight
02a Ed Sheeran - Don't

Subject - Everyone should list two songs using an a/b format. The title under A must be two words long. The title under B must be three words long. Crucially, the first two words of song A must be identical to the first two words of song B.

... 😁 just for the sake of the quarter ..it's written and spoken as one single word and brighteagle39 is absolutely correct in his assessment ... even if it technically consists of two, depending on how you prefer to view it

I’m honestly at a loss here... why would anyone include something where the official title clearly has five words instead of two, especially when everyone is specifically looking for two?

Topic - Let's play a little game of "A vs. B." Here’s the deal: both entries need to be single-word titles. They have to share the exact same name. To make things interesting, the songs under A and B must have been officially released as studio singles at least ten years apart, and they can't just be one person covering the other. It’s all about those coincidental echoes through time.

It is quite evident that such logic does not always hold true... there are nuances to language that exist beyond simple counts.
Don't you, forget about me .... parentheses serve a different purpose entirely...

Have you ever actually seen The Breakfast Club?

The Premise: One submits two items under the a/b format. Each item must have a single-word title. Both titles must be identical. Furthermore, the song under category A and the song under category B must have been officially released as singles in their studio versions at least ten years apart from one another, and they cannot be cover versions of each other.

🤦 moving too fast again. My bad. 🙂 👍

The rules—everyone puts two things under A/B. Both titles consist of just one word. They have identical names. The track under A and the track under B must have been officially released as studio singles at least 10 years apart, and they can't be covers of each other.
