Last post on the page—is there a fix?

So, I’ve noticed that the very last post on a page often ends up being a bit of an unwanted child—it kind of gets overlooked since everyone just jumps straight to the next page as soon as a new thread starts...

Is there any way we could tweak the forum settings so that the final post on a page actually triggers the start of a new one automatically?

I have a feeling most people just default to reading from the very first new post in these threads...

Personally, I just click to head straight to the very last page. I’m never quite sure if that "jump to latest post" option actually works consistently... it feels a bit hit or miss sometimes.

Hmm, but why just the last one? That feels like we're leaving the second-to-last post out in the cold. Personally, I’d want the last two posts to carry over.

Hmm, if the fourth post happens to be mine, then it’s basically the bottom of the barrel, isn't it?

All we need is a button that takes my fourth post—assuming it's mine—and jumps it two pages ahead, while simultaneously creating a link to it on the homepage.

It works perfectly fine for me. That's exactly how I navigate all my subscribed threads.

It’s kind of weird, but I think it only glitches out when there's a poll involved—like, if I hit that "go to first unread post" button on one of those threads, it just tosses me straight to the very last post in the whole thing instead 😳
