Hey, I'm looking to build a PC with a budget of $1667 (specs only).

It’ll be for my girlfriend and me—I'm mostly gaming, while she needs it for Photoshop and photo editing software.
Since I don't know much about hardware, I'm wondering if we can put together something that works reasonably well for both of us.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions

Honestly, it’s just not the best time to be shopping for a new rig, you know? It’s not even that putting the parts together is the hard part—it's actually pretty straightforward—but finding a decent graphics card is a total nightmare right now. They’re either completely out of stock or they cost an absolute fortune, sometimes even more than your entire budget allows. You mentioned you want this PC specifically for gaming, and let's face it, you really need a solid GPU to make that happen. But since they're so impossible to find... I don't know. Maybe you could hang onto an old card you already have and just focus on upgrading everything else around it?

Napajanje Thermaltake Smart BM2 550W Bronze

ZALMAN Z3 NEO ATX Mid Tower PC Case

$1.75 - Best Buy

You’ll probably have to make do with integrated graphics for a bit with this setup, though I guess if you tune the RAM and overclock the GPU, you might get some decent performance out of older titles or esports games. You could potentially pivot to an i5-10400F paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 DDR6, but then you'd likely be looking at just 8GB of RAM and a 250GB SSD.

Can anyone recommend a decent GPU for a build like this? And roughly what am I looking at price-wise? Thanks.

I thought about getting a laptop instead, but they're way too expensive and honestly pretty underwhelming...

If I had to go with this as a baseline:

Kingston FURY Beast Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16
Intel Core i3-10105F 3.7GHz LGA1200
ASUS PRIME H410M-E Motherboard
Enermax 500W MaxPro II, 80+ Certified, active PFC, 2×PCIe, 5×SATA, 24-pin, 120mm fan
Kingston 500GB A2000 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD
Zalman S4 Mid-Tower ATX Case, black, no PSU included

$0.98 - Best Buy
