He really needs a bold move here. If he ends up stuck behind three cars on soft tires after the opening lap, his chances of getting past Bottas are slim—and honestly, I'm not even factoring Hamilton into the equation at that point.

Max Verstappen needs to pull off a mega start to clear the Mercedes-Benz cars early on. If they line up side-by-side, those Mercedes drivers will simply shut him out. Valtteri Bottas might be an easy target to shake off, but Lewis Hamilton won't be that simple. Once that happens, we're looking at Lewis Hamilton having effortless control over the race pace, unless Max pulls off some miracle overtake thanks to his softer tires.

It would certainly be entertaining.🙂

A collision between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton would actually be a decent way to see a fresh winner on the podium. Even better? Watching both the Mercedes-Benz and Red Bull Racing cars take each other out. 🙂

By the way, I make it a point to regularly read the incoherent ramblings of Max fans on this forum.

Max had several viable paths here—he could have peeled out before the Mercedes, or perhaps overtaken them during the formation lap. 🙂

Don't sweat it. Max goes after Valtteri Bottas, Bottas accidentally clips his tire during the duel and takes Max out. Lou wraps up the race without any drama, while Bottas secures a new contract...

It’s honestly wild how easily people can be manipulated—they react without using any actual brainpower. They don't realize that during that final attempt in Q3, the director is intentionally focusing the cameras on Lewis Hamilton. In reality, Lewis Hamilton can't go faster because Valtteri Bottas is blocking him, Valtteri Bottas can't go faster because Esteban Ocon is in his way, and Esteban Ocon can't go faster because... well, you get the idea.

And then, just like you said, they turn around and blame Lujo.

And honestly, you're being blind too—you didn't see anyone alive in front of Lujo or Max (especially when they came out of the pits in that section marked by the solid line). But that doesn't change the fact that Max and the Red Bull Racing pit wall are idiots. If he could have pulled a faster lap than Lujo, it wouldn't matter if he was ahead or behind on track. Why didn't he pass him during the warm-up lap? It's not like we haven't seen this before. If Lujo had tried, they either would've collided or Lujo would've ended up with a penalty. And also, why didn't they exit before Mercedes? They're closer to the pit exit anyway. Max couldn't even come close to Lujo's insane pace in Q3.

It's not even about whether it has anything to do with Ocon or anyone else...
It's about the fact that Red Bull Racing's timing was a total disaster right from the pit exit. They just didn't have enough time left...
And the director obviously focused on those two because it looked like an overtake attempt was brewing, even if it didn't happen. Of course he followed them—who else was he supposed to follow? 🤷

By the way, Esteban Ocon wasn't getting in Valtteri Bottas's way at all. If anything, he was well ahead. Even if Bottas actually wanted to push—assuming he could, which wouldn't have been enough to get Sergio Pérez back in the loop anyway—it's just a logical question why he would bother. 🤷
Check the driver tracker. The gaps between everyone are more or less the same, with the biggest gap being mostly between Ocon and Bottas, but nothing extreme compared to the rest...
The only outliers during that entire out-lap were the Hamilton-Verstappen gap (insanely close) and the Verstappen-Pérez gap (massive). And that has nothing to do with Lewis, or even much with Pérez; it's almost entirely down to Max...
Because Lewis was maintaining a standard distance from Bottas—not too big, not too small (just like everyone else on track)... so, totally normal.

If someone was acting weird on track, it was Max, riding Lewis's gearbox. Not really a shocker though, considering Mercedes were driving way slower than everyone else during that out-lap and barely squeezed him out just in time behind them...
But what's stupid on Max's part is that he didn't even try to pass Lewis when there was a clear opportunity. Instead, he just sat there hovering behind him, which is idiotic because you can't set a proper fast lap doing that...

Actually, looking at how Red Bull Racing sent him out, I wonder if he would have even made it into that final timed lap at all...

Max is pushing for no reason at all, while Pérez is lagging behind the pack and just dragging through the circuit...
God knows what kind of kid was running strategy for Red Bull Racing, but it definitely looks like they were taking orders from the crew in Maranello...

Eighteen years ago, history was being written right here on this track. Eighteen years ago, we witnessed what was hands down my all-time favorite Canadian Grand Prix. Honestly, even now, I can vividly recall exactly what I was doing that day leading up to the race. It was just one of those perfect, beautiful days that stays burned into your memory forever. Honestly, I think Red Bull Racing made a huge mistake by running that compromised engine this weekend. They should have just swapped it out immediately.

Since Lewis essentially knocked him out of championship contention with one masterful move, this should probably go straight into the history books.

The amateurs over at Red Bull, along with that clumsy Horner, are basically asking for a beatdown from Mercedes and Hamilton for the rest of the season. It’s pretty obvious they aren't even close to being title contenders, even when they actually have the faster car on the grid.
