I was wondering about things like AliExpress or Uber if they were handling shipping. Does the delivery cost depend strictly on how much the package weighs, or does distance play a role too—like factoring in fuel costs?
I have a bicycle that needs to go to a repair shop, and I'm expecting it back in two or three weeks. Naturally, I'll be covering the shipping both ways. I have two different locations I could send it to; one is 88 miles, and the other is 56 miles, which is quite a bit further away. Would they actually factor in the mileage or fuel surcharges, or is that just not how it works?
