I mean, what's the harm in dropping a link from The New York Post, asking if the guy actually made those incriminating comments, and maybe pointing out how the media seems to have such double standards?

As for the other user—who, by the way, hasn't been penalized for trolling despite basically echoing the same thing over and over since this thread started—I might have insulted them, but I doubt it was anything too heavy. They'll probably be just fine.

And honestly, if you guys are going to get this involved in the campaign, you might as well just shut down the local elections thread, declare your favorites the winners, and everyone can just celebrate together.

I'm just asking to have these points removed for "gross insults" and trolling, because I feel like I just asked a normal discussion question, which, I'm surprised—but not really, given the vibe here—hasn't even been brought up before on a forum like this.

Did you honestly think you could just derail this entire discussion by throwing out accusations that Eric Adams is a racist, and then turning around and claiming anyone planning to vote for him is a racist too?

So, you’re complaining about a certain "lack of media hysteria and harassment regarding that racist statement"? Which one, exactly? The other users here asked you to provide an actual link to HIS specific quote, rather than just a summary of how his mayoral opponent interpreted what he said.

We can certainly look at it! — Social welfare policy — Including Gypsy women and the Roma community — specifically the part that seems to be bothering you so much.

On top of all that, you can't help but throw in those sweeping generalizations about liberals, or making fun of "tolerant brothers" (liberals) by implying they are actually racists themselves. You've chosen a really poor way to frame this debate, and frankly, things can't continue this way without consequences.

Even though the warnings or bans issued to other users don't involve you, I'm going to respond because this is just more proof of how you try to twist the facts and how little credibility your claims actually hold: what you're saying is simply false—that specific user has been banned by me at least five times already, and is currently banned right now, because we simply do NOT tolerate trolling, off-topic rambling, or the constant whining that often has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

That doesn't give you a free pass to insult, label, or attack any other member, and it certainly doesn't allow you to "diagnose" someone and suggest they be sent to "institutions on the West Side."

So look, first off, just because you’re bringing up the details of his social welfare policy doesn't change the fact that someone could have made that exact same comment, just like VSHO reported.
If any other candidate had said something like that, they would’ve been branded a racist immediately. My whole point in the post was just whether he actually said it, and if he did, then everything else follows...
The user here started trying to DEFEND TT's statement exactly as it was phrased. She even admitted she isn't a fan of political correctness, so I guess she doesn't really see an issue with what was said.
Sorry, but if the guy actually said it and I haven't seen or heard any official denial, then I think I'm right—and honestly, the way the media is staying quiet about TT is pretty telling. Plus, I feel like I have every right to call out the hypocrisy of a user defending him like that.

I’m honestly just asking to have all my points stripped away since they were earned from arguing about Eric Adams and those comments regarding the Roma community.
It feels like we’re seeing the exact same thing today, where people who were just quoting parts of the social welfare policy ended up getting attacked by defenders of the party—and I think Chloe Campbell95 was even involved in that moderator side of things.
Then, once another user posted a screenshot that actually proved the person being attacked was right, the whole narrative just flipped and suddenly everyone is trying to rationalize the behavior.
So, I guess it’s pretty simple: either you go ahead and issue a month-long ban to both the guy who started this mess and the one who took the screenshot to keep the peace, or maybe just take my points away instead.
