In an inferior car with worn-out tires against the hyped-up Verstappen!!!!!!

wow !!!!!!!

I saw Max overtake him, but I definitely didn't see him pass Max.

Don't get too excited while it's still happening...😛

Look, I've been following F1 and other motorsports for 20 years now, and I have never seen a Theft quite like this. Honestly, I'd be embarrassed if my last name was Hamilton

Who robbed who? 😵 And what on earth does Hamilton have to do with any of this...
It’s not like Lewis Hamilton ordered Max Verstappen to give back the position. Even the FIA didn't step in—Red Bull Racing did it themselves as a precaution because they knew Max messed up during the overtake and was definitely going to get penalized...

The only real stain on Hamilton's win is how he kept cutting track half the race...
Half the race, those clowns acting as stewards were basically asleep at the wheel, ignoring Hamilton and a bunch of other drivers cutting corners.
They didn't notice anything until Red Bull gave Max a heads-up about him stepping off the track, and suddenly it's a massive issue. Apparently, it's only okay when it suits them. 🙂

Then there's that bizarre qualifying situation where the stewards decide not to penalize anyone—not even investigating Hamilton or Fernando Alonso, who clearly sped up under yellow flags right as Carlos Sainz Jr. was sitting on the track to set their fastest Q1 laps...
Yet, at the exact same time, they suddenly remember to punish the guy who passed Nikita Mazepin before the yellow flags were even out. 😁
The logic is just phenomenal: punish someone who wasn't even waved down by yellow flags because, hey, they "should have known" yellows were coming...
But you don't punish the guy who actually got waved down and somehow managed to set his fastest lap while the yellows were flying. 😁

Don't get too hyped up while it's still happening—it could all go sideways.😛

Max "overtook" him off-track—period. He had to let him back past just to avoid catching a 5-second penalty or a drive-through—that's how the rules work. Get with the program.

Honestly, there is a massive difference between merely catching someone and actually overtaking them. Hamilton drove those final laps with absolute mastery... It looks like we are in for quite an interesting season, if all goes according to plan.

Hamilton was drifting off the track in that exact corner basically the whole race, and then once Max finally makes his move, the FIA steps in and tells him to give the spot back. Look, either the FIA needs to be consistent from the jump, or just let them actually race... This "track limits" thing is honestly one of the dumbest rules they could've come up with. It’s not like he cut the corner—which would be a penalty—he just widened it. Even Lewis was complaining about it over the radio all race long. Honestly, the FIA is just a giant👎👎👎👎👎👎

stormybadger8 said:What red tires?
Max and the rest of the crew probably didn't have any fresh rubber—likely just stuck with whatever they used in qualifying. And let's be real, those aren't going to last 15 laps out on a track like Bahrain...
The real question is whether even the brand-new softs can handle it, let alone the old ones they practically ran them into the ground with during qualifying...

So he didn't have a fresh set of reds?

Either the FIA needs to actually be consistent from the jump, or they just need to get out of the way and let them race. This "track limits" thing is easily the dumbest rule they've ever cooked up. He didn't cut the corner to gain an advantage—he just widened his line, which is exactly what Lewis was telling his engineers over the radio all day. Honestly, the FIA is just one big 👎👎👎👎👎👎

Did Hamilton actually gain anything by going wide? If he didn't, then we're just arguing semantics. And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Lewis and the others were playing this game on purpose—just taking a wider line to save their tires. They'd drive a lap significantly slower than the benchmark just to stay legal while keeping those rubber levels healthy.

ruggedhawk20 said:What part of my argument was wrong?

But you're the one who said this...

No way. You'd have to shave off 8.5 seconds over 16 laps just to catch him—let alone pass him. Not happening.

And yet, he shaved off the 8.5 and passed him...

Exactly—I mean, if those tires can't even make it to 16 laps, then they're just total garbage...

Honestly, I have no clue if he did or didn't. I wasn't really paying attention...
But the rule of thumb is that drivers running in Q3—especially those fighting for pole who burn through two laps—usually end up without a single fresh set of softs left for the race.

Max just isn't smart enough to take down Lewis if he wants to be a real champion

Yeah, right—as if Hamilton didn't spend the whole race cutting corners at that exact same spot. Total hypocrisy!

Even Ham admitted he wasn't aware of those track limit rules...

If he wasn't, then it’s more of a philosophical debate—and honestly, I feel like Lewis and the others were totally playing it smart just to save their tires. They’d basically run a much slower lap than the benchmark just to dodge a penalty while keeping those tires in much better shape...

That line is fast enough that he was definitely gaining an edge on every single lap.

Look, the whole situation at Turn 4 just makes sense. Even the drivers were saying it after the race. It’s pretty simple—you’re supposed to learn where the limits are during qualifying. In qualifying, there's zero wiggle room because every single millisecond counts. But during the actual race? Things change. Fans hate those arbitrary five-second penalties that just ruin the flow of a race. People want to see them fight on the track. You only get flagged if you take an obvious, unfair advantage. Everyone was playing a little dirty out there, which is fine by me, since nobody actually gained a massive lead from it. But Max had to give that spot back after that overtake. It’s fair, it’s logical, and that’s that.

First off, that rule is just plain stupid. The track is narrow exactly where they expect people to pass—basically only on the straights using DRS. They really blew it this time...👎

Of course I'm mad. This should've been a win—period. And honestly, I was already posting about these track limit rules on the ESPN forums before the race even started... nothing changes.

If that were actually happening, the officials would’ve slapped him with a warning in no time. But Lewis isn't playing checkers; he’s playing chess. He took a wider arc just to baby those tires. That kind of thinking is exactly why he’s a 7xWDC.

But he straight up told them on the radio he was running wide through that corner the whole race. He even claimed he didn't know the rule existed...
