Is it just me, or is the PM section getting toxic?

Since when did sending insults via DM become allowed?
Especially when the person sends you a private message just to talk trash...

If we're following those rules, I'd like someone to go ahead and ban him too, please.

You really ought to report that message; you can handle it once your ban is lifted. At the end of the day, insults are insults, whether they’re posted publicly on the board or sent through a private DM. People tend to think direct messages are a safe zone where they won't get flagged, so there's a higher chance for toxic stuff to slip through the cracks unnoticed, but let me be clear: those messages aren't exempt from the rules. If someone breaks them, they still face the consequences.

It really just comes down to what was actually said and how much of a personal attack it was. At the end of the day, it’s up to the admin to make the call.

Since I was basically just giving people a taste of their own medicine when they started throwing insults, I’d really appreciate it if someone could take another look at how long this suspension lasts, because honestly, it feels like an eternity...

It might also be worth digging through the message history to see who actually kicked things off and sent those first jabs in the first place...

I happened to stumble back here and wanted to touch on the technical side of things—it’s not actually a two-month ban, it's just that the strike stays on your record for two months, and your current ban should expire in about seven hours, assuming it's 10 AM right now.

Once the ban lifts, the strikes don't just vanish; those typically stick around much longer...

The bans scale up by hundreds—100 (active) points gets you one day, 200 is two days, 300 is three, 400 is four, 500 is a week, 600 is two weeks, 700 is three weeks, 800 is a month, 900 is two months, and 1000 is a permanent ban.
