Hey there.

So, I picked up an ASUS RX 570 8GB for some mining work, while keeping my old GTX 1060 3GB as my main card.
Everything was fine at first—flashed the Radeon card and kept using the GeForce just like always. Then I noticed the GTX 1060 was running hot because it was sitting right above the Radeon card, so I decided to swap their positions.
And that’s when everything went south.
The Radeon card completely bricked on me—thankfully, I managed to revive it by having a buddy with integrated graphics help me re-flash it.

Now, the setup is the Radeon in PCIe Slot 1 and the GeForce in PCIe Slot 2, which creates a massive headache whenever I plug my monitor into the GeForce; Windows takes forever to boot and I can't even get into the BIOS. If I move the cable over to the Radeon, everything works perfectly fine.

My motherboard is an ASUS B450 Plus. I've been digging through the BIOS settings, but I honestly can't figure out how to set PCIe Slot 2 as the primary.
I tried Googling how to set NVIDIA as the primary, but the "preferred GPU" option is nowhere to be found in my control panel.

Any suggestions, ideas, or advice before I start tearing this whole thing apart? Cheers.

Whatever path you take here probably won't end well. A mining rig really needs to stay a mining rig, rather than trying to turn it into some sort of hybrid desktop setup. You’re always going to run into overheating issues when you're mining; it’s just an unavoidable reality of the hardware. You could try modifying the cooling—maybe go with a water loop or cram in some extra fans—but that’s going to be incredibly loud, and I suspect it’s already noisy enough as it is. As for choosing your primary GPU, you can find those settings under the Advanced section in your BIOS.

I’ve been digging through the advanced settings—searching everywhere—but nothing's popping up. I tried tweaking a few other things too, but honestly? Zero results.
Ended up just moving the cards back to where they were before. It was freezing up constantly.
