I can't say I'm surprised this band doesn't have their own dedicated thread—kind of like a few others. They were just so incredibly good. 🙏 They’re one of those groups I fell for instantly back in the day, and honestly, those feelings haven't changed one bit. I think I might eventually have to start a whole separate thread just for them—if it doesn't kill me—because Marc Bolan and T. Rex definitely deserve their own little corner of this forum.

Regarding this concert, it's pretty interesting that it was held in a venue that used to be an old swimming pool; they were actually the second band to play there after Led Zeppelin. From what I can gather in the description, this is also the only surviving professional live recording of theirs, which makes this specific copy even more precious. I don't even want to think about how many gems and moments—like Bolan using a tambourine instead of a pick during that 13-minute blowout of "Get It On"—have been lost to history forever. The rest of the setlist is mostly made up of their biggest hits, and they closed things out with Eddie Cochran's "Summertime blues," which—if I remember correctly—was one of Bolan's main influences.

The Jon Hassell Concert Group, New York, September 16, 1989.

Jon Hassell and a handful of others performing in a venue built just four years prior—the first of its kind globally. Twelve years later, the place would suffer heavy damage from the fallout of certain Third World activities, though it managed to endure. First world plus third world equals the fourth world.

Started a thread about The Cure, and someone actually suggested I give them another shot—and man, they sound incredible live. Like, world-class good. I hadn't seen them before, but Mladenović is such a killer vocalist, and the rhythm section is just spot on (if I remember correctly, Bojan is on bass and Žika is on drums)—not to mention mag, where there isn't much left to say. Those four really know how to build a specific kind of atmosphere, which really hits home during their live shows. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say they sound way better in this format than they do on their studio albums. So, tonight's plan is to watch their concert from Chicago—it's only about 45 minutes long, though unfortunately, it’s the longest clip I could find on YouTube.

I’ll admit, I had plenty of hang-ups about them because of a few hits from the 80s—but a friend of mine recently pointed me toward some of their stuff from the early 70s, and now I'm having to rethink my whole stance. Honestly, looking at that early era... they were just a top-tier group of musicians, which explains why they were so highly regarded over on the Atlantic side. If you're wondering why they earned that reputation, just watch this concert and you'll see what I mean.

The former leader of the jam and his backing band absolutely killed it at this Central Park show. I noticed he sprinkled in plenty of stuff from his solo years, which didn't take away from the setlist one bit—if anything, it added to it. Personally, I loved the whole thing. This kind of sound is right up my alley, and honestly, those two hours just flew by. I think I need to dive a bit deeper into his solo work... there's definitely some interesting material there.

Black Sabbath - Live in London (1970) / BIZARRE BAZAAR

Some sources claim this was New York City, while others insist on Chicago, circa '70...
The crowd looks like they're at a theater, mostly just kids...
I can't be certain, so feel free to set me straight...
They played the entire debut album along with a bit of Paranoid.
A tight band—young, hungry, and incredibly powerful...
Ozzy is messing around in his jumpsuits, but Iommi is flawless on the Gibson, backed by a rhythm section producing pure distortion...
And that's how heavy rock was born...
A perfect recording...
For the lifelong fans and those just starting out...
Watch it, listen closely...
The beast has been unleashed...
