I was hoping someone could clarify the reasoning behind my ban, because the notification I received claims I heavily insulted other users—a conclusion I simply don't see supported by the actual transcript provided. When I look at the rules for this specific subforum, it seems to me that more than half of the posts here wouldn't even be permitted if they were judged by those standards, given how much hate speech, personal insults, slurs directed at public figures, and profanity are tossed around daily. I’ve personally reported about a dozen posts myself, yet I haven't noticed any real action being taken. It feels as though the users in question continue to post in that exact same manner because, from what I can gather, they happen to be your allies, which apparently makes them untouchable. For instance, when a user states (and yes, I reported this) that certain "limited" people or "idiots" should be stripped of their right to vote, that is textbook hate speech. Yet, when someone calls out that stance by labeling it a fundamental tenet of fascism and subsequently calls that person a fascist, they end up getting banned. Meanwhile, when that same individual tells others they should starve to death or uses every vulgarity in the book, there is absolutely zero response. If you aren't actually able to keep up with the reports being filed, perhaps it's time to be honest about that so we can find a moderator who is actually up to the task of keeping the Politics subforum free from hate speech, proto-fascist rhetoric, and the various violations of our conduct policy.

This link leads directly to the specific post mentioned in the ban notice.

The post for which I am being punished doesn't deviate in the slightest from what is considered "normal" discussion on this board; seeing as none of my interlocutors have been banned, I'm genuinely confused as to what my supposed crime was and would appreciate an explanation. If this is simply a matter of selectively punishing those who disagree with you, I'd appreciate knowing that too, if only so I know it's best not to post here at all.

Thanks,

Here is the specific post I was talking about—the one I ended up reporting. It’s just loaded with insults directed at both fellow forum members and actual public figures, which, frankly, flies right in the face of our community guidelines, though it seems those rules don't apply equally to everyone. I won't even get into the profanity, but it’s certainly there if you care to look.

And honestly, that is just a single example from a vast sea of posts that all seem to violate various rules within the Politics subforum. On top of that, I've noticed a few instances where, after I respond to one user, another person jumps in to reply to me as if they were the original person being addressed. It makes me suspect we might be dealing with a single individual operating two different accounts, which is a violation of both the subforum rules and the general site policies. Specifically, users kiss me and komutator strike me as being the same person, mostly because they occasionally seem to lose their train of thought in their replies, but since I don't have any concrete proof, I suppose it remains just my own subjective impression.

Did I actually write this?
It doesn't bother you when your fascist colleague....

or does it??

Getting off with just 500 is a win in my book.

Honestly, you got off easy with just 500.

The reason I even brought that up is because she—or he, for all I know, since it’s entirely possible one person is running two different accounts—essentially branded herself a fascist by trying to dictate who actually deserves a voice. It’s that whole assumption that we aren't all equal, which isn't true in society, and certainly shouldn't be the case here on this forum. Suggesting that everyone is just disposable or "can kick the bucket" whenever... if that isn't some form of fascism, then I suppose I don't know what is. I haven't really noticed any pushback against comments like that, though. As for the vocabulary this particular user employs... well, I don't quite know how to put it, and maybe I'll end up getting a permanent ban just for saying it... but if anyone actually bothers to read, they'll see what I mean.

And no, I'm not sitting here wishing for a 5,000 fine or anything; it’s just that I find it baffling how someone can still be allowed to post with that kind of attitude. It’s highly questionable, and I have reported it, truly I have... but it feels like nobody is actually reading these things. I guess that's just the way it goes...

It reminds me of how the President recently described certain corners of the internet as a "cesspool." I'm not entirely sure what his specific intent was, but if a cleanup is required, I suppose it is.

And just so I'm clear for future reference, am I going to get banned if I call someone a fascist, but if I suggest that others should be stripped of their rights because they are intellectually inferior, then I'm perfectly fine? I'd just appreciate some confirmation on where the line is drawn, so I don't accidentally trip over it and get banned again.
