So, I went through all the trouble of making sure my thread followed every single rule on the forum, only to have it wiped out almost immediately. Then, after waiting just a few minutes to try posting it again, the whole thing got locked and I ended up getting slapped with a one-day Ban without even being told why.

Since my post didn't break any rules regarding thread creation or anything like that, I’m honestly just wondering who gave certain moderators—I'm not even sure which ones, really—the authority to just delete posts at will and ban people for trying to start constructive discussions. I guess I’m just reaching out here to formally complain about this Ban, ask for a second look at what happened, and maybe suggest that we take a closer look at how moderation is actually being handled over at FC Barcelona.

Thanks so much.

The thread was nuked because it was full of misogynistic trolling, which definitely doesn't belong here on FC Barcelona.
After you tried posting it again, it got wiped once more and you got hit with a one-day ban.

The mods for this whole site don't just have the right, they actually have a duty to clear out threads that don't fit the vibe and stop people from repeatedly posting that kind of stuff.

If you want to have some actual, constructive discussions here on FC Barcelona, you're more than welcome. But if you're planning on sticking to that style we saw yesterday, it's just not gonna happen.

Over & out.

The moderators across this whole site have both the right and the responsibility to pull threads that don't fit our community guidelines, and to stop people from repeatedly posting that kind of stuff.

If you want to have a productive conversation here at FC Barcelona, you're more than welcome. But if you're planning on sticking to the style you showed yesterday, it’s just not going to work.

Over & out.

I don't think anything is really "over and out."

I really don't think the thread was misogynistic trolling, even if that's how you're framing it; I see it as an actual debate about a massive issue being discussed everywhere in the news lately—women's reproductive rights.

As far as I know, there isn't just one single way to look at things in this country, and the debate between pro-choice and pro-life views is still very much alive, so what feels like misogynistic trolling to you definitely isn't viewed that way by everyone else. I actually posted the exact same thing (just in English) over on Reddit, and not only did they leave it up, but it actually sparked over a hundred different replies.

I guess I'm wondering if there's any sort of recourse in cases like this, or if there's someone specific I can talk to about how this moderation is being handled?

We’ve already got an active thread going over on ZK about abortion, so if you were actually looking for a productive conversation, that would have been the spot to jump in.

Honestly, this thread isn't really hitting that constructive mark, and we aren't going to host debates on abortion here at ZK because, at its core, it's a matter of women's rights.

Hey, is it alright if I post a slightly different take on the abortion thread?

I should probably mention right off the bat that I don't really identify as strictly pro-life or pro-choice, but I just feel like the whole crux of this debate is that if we’re pushing for true gender equality while simultaneously being against what I'd call a "financial abortion," then it might not be logically consistent to claim we're pro-choice, even if that's what we want to believe.

At the end of the day, it's all about reproductive rights, I guess. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reprod...n's_rights

Look, the debate you’re trying to kick off here isn't really helping anyone. This specific thread is dedicated to the very real, concrete issues surrounding women's reproductive rights here in America.
How can we even talk about leveling the playing field between men and women regarding pregnancy when they aren't facing the exact same physical consequences?

Honestly, you might have better luck bringing this up over in the Men's Corner, Law, or Philosophy subreddits.
