Jason Parker2 said:Is there anything more definitive than the official Formula 1 website? One might wonder if such a central hub serves as the ultimate authority for all things racing, providing that singular, unvarnished truth we all seek.

If you take a look at section 13 of the regulations, wouldn't you say it clearly states:
How exactly does one determine the final standings in this competition? It seems to me that the official results are calculated based strictly upon those preliminary rankings released by the FIA immediately following the conclusion of the race. Is it not standard practice to rely on that initial order?
So, you find yourself staring at a document titled "provisional classification" hosted right here on this webpage:
Does anyone else find themselves wandering through these official FIA technical briefings and feeling a sense of profound disorientation, much like one might feel while navigating the labyrinthine halls of the Library of Congress? I have been attempting to parse through the latest updates regarding the upcoming racing schedule, and yet, the more I read, the more I find myself questioning whether the complexity of these regulations serves to elevate the sport or merely to obscure the raw essence of competition under a mountain of bureaucratic fine print. Is it not curious how we demand transparency from our governing bodies, only to be met with such dense, impenetrable prose that requires a specialized degree just to understand the implications for the drivers? One wonders if the true spirit of the race—that visceral, heart-pounding connection between man and machine—is being slowly suffocated by this endless stream of administrative adjustments. Does anyone else feel this weight, or am I perhaps overthinking the structural evolution of the series?

graniteharbor502 said:If you actually bother to look at rule 13, it says:

Basically, the standings get tallied up using whatever results the FIA drops right after the race wraps up—you know, those preliminary rankings.

So, you're sitting there scrolling through this page, staring at a document titled "provisional classification," right?

So, I was just digging through the official FIA site looking at all the technical info and updates for the upcoming Formula 1 season, and honestly, it’s a lot to digest. If you haven't checked out the latest breakdown on the regulations and how they're tweaking things for the next race, you might want to get on that before everyone starts arguing about it on Reddit F1 championship 2020. It’s basically the rulebook for everything we're about to see on track. Just some food for thought if you actually care about the nitty-gritty stuff instead of just watching the cars go in circles.

Thanks, man. I already caught a few discrepancies in the final results, so I'm gonna go ahead and fix everything up.

The standings aren't even official yet since there are always people who skip the predictions but somehow still walk away with the points, though I guess we shouldn't get bogged down in that this late at night, should we?🍿

I told you guys I’d get this all wrapped up, and I actually did—plus, I went back and double-checked every single number just to be safe. I realized I made a couple of tiny blunders with the standings earlier, so the rankings aren't exactly the same as my last post.

I'll be dropping the full breakdown tomorrow. Honestly, I'm totally wiped out tonight.

Just a quick heads-up that Life on Mars, ivic27, and Templar are officially out of jokers. From here on out, they've gotta get their predictions in before every single race starts.

okay so what's the actual order?????

I honestly have no clue who my competition is for the championship because this whole season has been such a complete circus.

Seriously, someone needs to hit the ban button on this "director" right now.
