First off, I want to give a shout-out to this site. It’s one of the few "survivors" left out there that doesn't rely on Meta's infrastructure. I haven't been super active lately, but I've been following certain threads for years... and honestly, I've found answers to just about any question imaginable here.
But nothing is perfect. In my humble opinion, for this community to keep thriving, we really need to be more careful about how we choose the people responsible for its success—specifically, the moderators. Well, most of them, anyway...
In the short time I've been active here, I have to say, I am genuinely shocked by the conduct of two specific moderators. Believe me, if there were even two or three more like them, this whole place would collapse overnight.
To be specific...
Nica — she handed me six infractions in total. Every single one was simply because she didn't agree with my point of view. The last two were the absolute craziest part... get this: I got penalized because another user insulted me (that's one), and then I got another one because I called out his lack of manners in my reply! Yes, believe it or not, I was the one flagged just for being targeted by an insult. 🤣🤣
Chris Myers — he jumps into discussions, tosses out insults, and then deletes the offensive parts later. And if you dare respond to what he deleted, he hits you with an infraction for "questioning moderator actions." 🤣🤣🤣
Just like Nica, he hands out infractions for posts he disagrees with—labeling anything he dislikes as spam, trolling, or off-topic.
Posts they disagree with are either nuked instantly or deleted with an accompanying infraction, yet posts that actually incite violence are left sitting there for four or five days... even after I specifically asked for them to be removed.
This kind of behavior doesn't just hurt the reputation of such a serious forum; it’s completely unprofessional. It's not even how a regular member should act, let alone a moderator who is supposed to maintain order and a positive atmosphere.
If anyone wants to see the threads where this duo has truly "shown their colors," here they are:
I just hope the two mentioned above can't delete this post... and that someone with actual authority reads this and does something to protect this otherwise amazing community.
