My apologies if this topic has come up before; I spent some time scrolling through a few pages but couldn't find anything quite like this.
A few days ago, I was out at a go-karting track and took a side impact during a race. My right ribcage slammed pretty hard against the seatback. In the heat of the moment, I didn't feel much of anything. But then, on the very next left-hand turn, I felt this sharp, stabbing sensation right where I hit—it felt exactly like a wasp sting. Since that moment, the pain just hasn't let up.
I went to see my doctor yesterday, and after an exam, they concluded it’s significant pain located between my second and third ribs. There aren't any bruises, no abdominal pain, and nothing going on with my lower back, so they just prescribed some Ibuprofen. However, since this morning, I've started feeling this radiating ache; specifically, a dull discomfort spreading toward my spine and just under the ribs. It's making it nearly impossible to get comfortable enough to sleep.
I'm feeling a bit uncertain about how to proceed, so I wanted to reach out to those of you who have dealt with rib trauma, whether from car accidents or playing contact sports. I'd love to hear about your experiences.
