Action Zone:

Turn 1

1998- A brutal opening lap crash involving Alex Wurz.

image

Turns 6 and 7

2011- On the final lap, Sebastian Vettel made a mistake, handing Jenson Button the win in what was the longest race in f*** F1 history (4 hours).

image

Turn 10

2007- Approaching this chicane is tricky because of the slight bend right before it. It can be a recipe for disaster, which we saw clearly during Robert Kubica's accident.

image

Turns 13 and 14

1999- The legend of the wall champion was born in 1999, when Michael Schumacher, Damon Hill, and Jacques Villeneuve all went off at the exit of the chicane.

Mercedes seems unstoppable, honestly. Unless something totally unexpected happens, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas could pretty much call themselves winners right now.

The mid-field battle is always intense. McLaren has positioned themselves nicely as the 4th best team, sitting with nearly double the points of Racing Point. Then you have the group of them—Haas, Renault, Toro Rosso, and Alfa Romeo—all separated by just a few points. As for McLaren, they just need to maintain this pace, though Lando Norris needs to step it up a bit.

Circuit of the Americas isn't always known for putting on a show, so let's hope for some excitement here in Canada this year.

Quick updates ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix:

- The new paddock and garages, designed as a nod to the 1967 Expa legacy, are ready for the Grand Prix.
- Ferrari will be removing the Mission Winnow logo for the next two races.
- Mercedes should bring their first major upgrade to Montreal, with expectations of over 1000 horsepower.
- Toto Wolff is looking for a stronger performance from Valtteri Bottas in Montreal.
- Nicholas Latifi will be driving the first free practice session for Williams.
- Binotto: "We aren't giving up hope in Canada."

The intro was top-notch as usual, and I noticed you actually put some effort into the spelling this time!

👍Yeah, that's what I'm asking you—the critique wasn't meant to be malicious, just constructive.
It’s good to see there's a positive impact.👍

Nice one!
Last year it was Richard Ross11, this year it's you... not bad at all. Maybe think about doing a travelogue... or at least share a few shots.

Maybe I'll head out to Austin this year...
Though I have already been there twice...

Well, the folks over at Ferrari claim they’ve got a lightning-fast engine on them this year, but I can't shake the feeling that Mercedes is just waiting to capitalize. It feels like we're headed toward another situation where Ferrari's "brilliant" strategy backfires again.

It’s a real shame the forecast is calling for nothing but sunshine; I was actually hoping for some rain to stir things up on a track like this.

Anyone planning to cheer on the Toronto Raptors this Saturday night? I assume there will be a broadcast near the track...🎉

Not really. I don't follow the Raptors much.

It is quite a shame that the forecast calls for sunshine; wouldn't it have been far more interesting if we had some rain hitting the track?

The moment Wolff starts praising his rivals to anyone who will listen, it can only mean one thing: he's talking nonsense again.

“That is why Canada will be a massive challenge for us, as the characteristics of the circuit could favor our competitors even more. There are many long straights, and fewer corners where we can actually make up lost time.”

I anticipate a fierce battle between Sebastian and Charles for that final spot on the podium, though I am hoping they fight it out without any team orders getting in the way this time.

I expect Sebastian and Charles to fight tooth and nail for that final podium spot, though I suspect there won't be any team orders holding them back this time.

Unless that rascal Max pushes them both off the track 😁

Max has matured significantly; he isn't the same driver we saw back in 2018, as his driving style has become far more calculated and intelligent.

Red Bull Racing is essentially the only team capable of outperforming Ferrari, provided that the Ferrari strategists stumble, which—given their history—is a very real possibility. Max is bracing himself for a challenging weekend;

"I expect Ferrari to be more competitive in Canada, so for us it may be a bit more difficult, but as always we will try and maximise the result."

Red Bull Racing would have overtaken Ferrari two hundred times over if they didn't have Gasly on their roster.

Ferrari should be solid here. I won't go as far as saying they’re a lock for a 1-2 in qualifying, but there's definitely a real shot at it. The oddsmakers aren't exactly betting on them right now, mostly because they're looking at recent race results rather than how this specific track layout suits their setup—which it absolutely does. That said, you can never count out those "experts" on the Ferrari pit wall or drivers who can find ways to throw away a massive advantage...
