Moderator John Smith on the Military History and Technology subreddits

He’s now dictating which font colors we can use following that insane decision

to delete any images wider than Zone480px!

Can someone responsible please take a look at this

and see what he's doing to absolutely wreck this sub!!

Just look at what lonetrucker4 replied!

Blue is the color the moderator uses. I removed it. Other users should avoid using it to prevent confusion. Also, don't post entire messages in a single color; you may highlight specific words or paragraphs with a different color instead.

Folks, lonetrucker4 has officially banned us from using Blue for our posts!!

Is there no end to this? Mr. Zone480px is now deciding our color palette just because he decided Royal Blue represents HIM personally!!

.

If you ask him a question or even try to be polite, he just bans you and forces you to

complaining here, which is honestly humiliating since he acts like some supreme authority over a topic like

that he knows about as much as someone staring out a window at a gray, filthy sky

somewhere out in the middle of nowhere

Look, you didn't get banned or anything. It’s just about making sure everyone on Reddit knows when a moderator is actually weighing in.

Why are you lying to Oštriža in front of everyone again?

You penalized me just because I questioned why my posts were deleted.

I didn't violate a single content guideline, yet you suddenly decided that the color Blue

is your own private playground, and once again, you slapped me with a 35-point penalty!

How long are you going to keep hunting and harassing me?

It’s only because you lack basic knowledge regarding the topic you moderate, but your ego won't let you admit it.

And now you're making up rules after years of perfectly normal posting.

You're introducing "Orwellian rules."

Just come out and say which color you've banned—is it Blue or Navy?

Just come out with it—which color did you ban? Is it Blue or Navy?
All the best,

Colors should basically be used to highlight specific points or make certain parts pop from the rest of the text, or maybe for moderator warnings. They aren't meant for writing entire posts—I mean, if everyone just picked their own random color, this place would look like a coloring book designed specifically to trigger a seizure! There are a few users around here who constantly switch up their colors, but they've been doing it for ages, so the mods just kind of let it slide. Using Blue would be perfectly fine too, but again, strictly for emphasis. It’s the same deal with fonts: they’re okay as long as they stay close to the default setting, but anything else gets stripped away because it messes with the flow of reading. Same goes for having way too much visual clutter. Reddit needs to be clean and easy on the eyes, and a massive pile of different colors, weird fonts, and emoji madness doesn't help that at all. Everything should be done in moderation.
