Yesterday, I picked up a new laptop "Dell Inspiron 15" without an OS pre-installed—so we decided to run the installation via a USB drive today.
Right near the end of the process, the screen indicated that the computer would restart in about 10 seconds to finalize everything.
But once it rebooted, I was hit with this error message: “Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer restart the installation”
After I clicked OK, the machine just restarts again and throws the exact same error at me—it’s stuck in this endless loop.
Following some advice I found online, I tried force-restarting the machine three times in a row to trigger the blue recovery screen, which looked like this:
The operating system on your pc failed to turn off properly and needs to be repaired
Press enter to try again
Press f8 for startup settings
Press esc for UEFI firmware settings
I have attempted every option presented there, but I keep getting looped back to that same frustrating error message.
Does anyone have any insight into what might be causing this—or perhaps a suggestion on how I can fix it?
