About two years ago, I got a solid recommendation for a custom PC build (once again, huge thanks to Jack Reed for helping me spec everything out), and it was top-tier advice.
That rig is still running flawlessly, and I couldn't be happier with the components I went with based on those suggestions.

Now, I’m in the market for a laptop. I might head over to $1733, though I wouldn't mind checking out some options online if it makes sense, but ideally, I’d like to stay within the $1733 range.

The laptop will be my primary tool for web design—think WAMP stacks, IDEs, and the usual heavy lifting. As for the screen, I don't need anything larger than 15"; honestly, I have zero interest in lugging around a bulky 17" machine.

I'm planning to pick up the laptop in San Francisco.

Thanks in advance for any leads or recommendations!

Maybe something like this. If you're serious about using it for work, just make sure you get an IPS screen. As long as the processor is decent, you have enough RAM, and a larger SSD, you should be fine.
