Hey there.

I’m looking to get some solid advice on building or buying a rig specifically for 4K video and photo editing.
A minimum of 32GB RAM is non-negotiable here.
I'm trying to keep the total budget under $3333, and that needs to include a decent 4K monitor.
If you could help me out, that would be awesome.😁

That’s just not enough cash. A decent 4K monitor alone is going to run you north of $1000, then you've got 32GB of RAM sitting at 3000, so I guess you have to wonder where the rest of it is supposed to come from...

So we're looking at a total bust then?

Alright fine, if you're gonna be like that, just ditch the monitor. I'll just grind away editing on my ancient piece of junk 😁

1 x Intel Core i7-7700K, 3.7GHz, 20MB, LGA1151
1 x ASUS AB350 Gaming K4, AM4
1 x Seagate HDD 2TB, 7200rpm, 64MB
1 x SSD 2.5" - 240GB PNY, CS900 SATA3
1 x Sharkoon S25-W Midi Tower ATX case, no PSU, black
1 x Fortron Hexa 85+ 550W, 80+ Bronze, ATX power supply
1 x Gigabyte GF GTX1050 D5, 2GB GDDR5
2 x Crucial DRAM 16GB DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) CL17 DR x8 Unbuffered DIMM 288pin, EAN: 649528773500

Total: $2787 Futura-IT

If you can stretch the budget a little, I guess you could pick up a 27" 1440p monitor.

Sweet, sounds like we're good to go then. Thanks!👍

What’s your take on this monitor? It looks pretty decent to me—28 inches, HDMI 2.0, and while the design is a bit dated, I’m totally fine with that.

That would put me at roughly $333 over budget, which honestly isn't a dealbreaker for me.

A TN panel isn't going to cut it for what you're doing (video/photo editing). You’ll run into issues with inaccurate color reproduction, terrible viewing angles, and constant gamma shifts... You really need an IPS or PLS panel instead.

Also, if you ask me, a 28" screen is just too small for 4K resolution; those tiny icons in design software might end up being a real pain to work with.

Yeah, everything is basically four times smaller.
People are out here editing 4K content on monitors that aren't even native 4K, so honestly, I don't see why me grabbing an ultrawide that isn't 4K would be such a massive deal. It’s not like I’m running a professional broadcast studio or anything.
For example, this Dell IPS 29" is sitting right around $667, which fits my budget perfectly.
The 34-inch option is about $500 more expensive.

Yeah, those 29" 21:9 Dell IPS monitors are a solid choice. That extra widescreen real estate is a game-changer for boosting your productivity.

ASUS makes some killer boards for Content Creators (designers) too
I actually own one myself and I'm pretty stoked with it!
You can find all their boards listed down at the bottom here ->

My friend, there really isn't any need to go around promoting ASUS motherboards across every single thread on all the American forums; besides, this particular discussion—much like many other threads you've been flooding lately—was settled quite some time ago.
