Hey Nike,

Following those directions you gave in this thread

quoting:
Scott Nguyen5, you just got hit with 700 points and a month-long ban. Consider that me showing you a little bit of unearned mercy. Next time, it’s a permanent ban—don't forget it.

I need you to sanction this post

Ever since this specific chat style started on the boards, we’ve been trading insults and all sorts of stuff because there basically haven't been any mods around. But we have *never* crossed the line into racial slurs or targeting someone's background, because honestly, that's just disgusting. Even without moderators watching our backs, us regular users actually respected some boundaries. This guy, though? He exists solely to tear people down. Correct me if I'm wrong, but has he ever actually contributed anything to a discussion using logic instead of just being a jerk? I can't think of a single time. Look, okay, the chat is rough and we talk trash to each other, but if bans are handed out for general insults, then giving someone a measly 45 points for using a slur against someone's ethnicity is nothing short of a joke. Especially since this guy keeps doing the exact same thing over and over, even after the admin explicitly warned him she wouldn't tolerate it anymore.

Nike, please, give us a fair ruling here.

thanks!

It’s pretty obvious that someone born and raised in the Midwest isn't going to have a deep grasp of Southern dialects. It’s just common sense, and there’s nothing offensive about that from a cultural standpoint.

The Governors were divided because people were jumping the gun, not because of some petty grievance. Which is exactly what you two love to do—but hey, I haven't reported you yet. From now on, if you want to act like provocateurs and then cry about it, don't come to me complaining about double standards.

"Some uneducated small-town girl from the Midwest" isn't some universal label for anyone born in the heartland. People just make stuff up to insult someone else.

It’s a synonym, but it isn't some national insult. You're just pulling words out of context to justify jumping down my throat.

Calling someone an uneducated small-town girl is an insult, so yeah, I got a penalty for that. Fair enough.

Honestly, I’d go a step further and start lowercase-ing words like "Mexican" or "Mexico" on purpose... just to be petty. Since those guys insist they have perfect grammar and are totally flawless writers, making a mistake like that definitely wouldn't look like an accident—it would be a clear statement.🥳

boldcyclist37 said:I’d honestly go a step further and start misspelling their names on purpose. Just to drive the point home. Because when someone claims they have perfect grammar and impeccable writing skills, a mistake like that isn't just a slip-up—it's a choice. It's hard to call it an accident at that point, don't you think?🥳

And that guy who kept getting flagged for jumping on me in the men's section? He’s so incredibly obnoxious that I didn't even have to file an official report before the moderators stepped in.

So, there it is... the sentence starts with a capital letter, the commas are actually being used correctly, and yet—somehow—they’re keeping "Mexicans" in lowercase.

It feels like a blatant attempt to downplay an entire nation—a nation I’m part of myself, by the way—especially since I’m the one calling for sanctions here.

boldcyclist37 said:So... great start. A sentence starting with a capital letter, actually paying attention to commas, and yet you're claiming Americans should be lowercase?

It's pretty obvious you're just trying to belittle my entire people while I'm out here calling for sanctions.

If you actually took a second to look at my posts, you'd see I write all my proper nouns in lowercase. That includes countries, cities, regions—even the city and state where I live.
I care about punctuation because it actually changes the meaning of a sentence. To me, that matters way more than constantly hitting the shift key on my keyboard.

Thanks for once again showing how far you'll go with these fabrications just to jump on me.

I’d suggest Nike does a quick search through boldcyclist37's post history for those specific racial slurs used against the Albanian community. They pop up dozens of times, even if they occasionally get flagged.

boldcyclist37 said:I’d also throw in the idea that they’re intentionally typing words like "Mexican" or "Mexico" mexican with a lowercase letter... on purpose... because when someone claims to be a perfect grammarian, an error like that is hard to dismiss as just a simple slip of the pen🥳

Adjectives should be lowercase.

Just wanted to chime in as an active moderator here.
This afternoon, things got pretty heated in the general chat between Scott Nguyen5 and Sophia Roberts21.
It escalated into a bunch of insults going back and forth.
I decided to issue a single collective warning to both parties for the verbal abuse.

Scott Nguyen5's posts:

Sophia Roberts21's posts:

Regarding the report about hate speech, I don't see any actual hate speech or racial bias in that specific post.
However, I do see some insults based on background—specifically targeting socioeconomic status by implying lower education and literacy levels.

That's all from me!

Only someone truly unrefined would dare label a woman a "half-literate rural hick," and if you honestly believe for one second that I could ever be lumped in with someone that crude and basic, you are sorely mistaken. 👍

And don't think for a moment that this hostility toward me just started today; his blatant intolerance and those pathetic attempts to insult me have been going on for quite some time now. Usually, I never bother reporting anyone's posts, so his outbursts typically just pass as petty bickering that no one bothers to acknowledge.

I wouldn't even bring this up right now, but I refuse to let anyone—ever—group me together with someone so ill-mannered and low-class, much less suggest there is any common ground between us. 👍

And you, Kimberly Rodriguez51, are certainly no Human Rights Judge to be deciding what his intentions were or weren't, especially when everyone on this message board knows he will say absolutely anything just to belittle and insult someone. Your attempt to justify such an insult is completely nonsensical, because if we follow that logic, then my own comments regarding his lack of education and intellectual inferiority compared to me would be just as unjustified—even though it is common knowledge that he is constantly prone to personal attacks against anyone who doesn't fall in line with his whims.

There is no place for returning insults here.

And generally speaking—stop bringing your arguments from the PDF over here. You've filed your complaints, the links are available, and those who care will check them out and react accordingly... End of story.

Since Kimberly Rodriguez51 quit her moderator gig because she couldn't stomach the constant insults from the same group that’s been coming after me, I figured it was time to drop a link to the behavior of one particular individual. Apparently, she still hasn't learned where the line is:

And here’s the endless stream of people whining about moderation and claiming the mods are corrupt:

<- definitely deserves a ban for yesterday's stunt

Two bans and a new day clearly wasn't enough to stop them from jumping down everyone's throats. These are toxic people who just want to build their own little sub-forum with their own rules, where they can decide exactly who gets insulted and when.

Since things on Reddit aren't ever going to change—and honestly, no matter how hard anyone tries, they're just gonna hit a wall—there's really no point in chatting on here until further notice.

As for those bans people are bringing up, I’m backing the moderator on this one. I think her call was spot on.
