Not sure how younger crowds feel about this kind of humor, but for me, it's still the gold standard... even its sequels held up. Modern "parodies" just feel uninspired and way too heavy on the sexism—it's hard to even find them funny. To pull off a good parody, you actually have to get the context, not just force in a bunch of random skits and fart jokes...

Classics like Top Secret, Hot Shots, and The Naked Gun & Loaded Weapon really nailed it.

Here's a slightly lesser-known one that's actually solid—a twisted take on the Salem witch trials. It stars John Travolta's wife, the gorgeous Kelly Preston.

Also, there's this underrated parody of slashers from back when they were blowing up, long before all that Scary Movie student Bodies stuff happened...

Btw, I didn't include Blake Edwards or Pink Panther because those are in a league of their own. They aren't classic parodies, just top-tier comedies with wild humor...

Sure, it’s a parody, but it’s done with such an intelligent touch—shot almost like a legitimate documentary. If you grew up listening to hip-hop back in the 90s, I cannot recommend this enough.

Believe it or not, there's this comedy series out there that's actually a total parody—Angie Tribec.
It’s honestly pretty solid, too. They've already got three seasons under their belt.

Even something like *Scrubs*—you know, that show about the interns—functions essentially as a parody of those heavy-hitting medical dramas like *ER* or *Grey's Anatomy*. The whole thing is just one non-stop barrage of ridiculousness. Every single scene is basically a massive joke. 😁

They'll throw in some parody bits here and there—usually just some wild daydream the lead character is having—but most of the time, it’s just your standard sitcom.

Seth MacFarlane is planning a reboot

That specific style of comedy is called deadpan humor, and honestly, it’s my favorite way to laugh. I thought Leslie was a total genius, especially during that Dracula parody.

As for a reboot, I’ll be blunt: it’s going to suck, and I have zero intention of wasting my time watching it.
