It’s basically a romance set a year after science finally proves the afterlife actually exists.
Writer-director Charlie McDowell hits the Sundance Film Festival this year with this intense thriller about a scientist (played by Robert Redford) who finds concrete proof that life goes on after you die. Jason Segel plays his son, who’s pretty skeptical about his old man’s big "breakthrough," and then you've got Rooney Mara playing this mysterious woman who’s got some deep, personal motives for digging into the whole afterlife thing.
