What do you want to leave behind when you're gone?

What kind of legacy do you actually want to leave behind—both the stuff people can touch and the things they can't?
Do you care about being remembered by total strangers for some big achievement you pulled off?
Or would you rather just fade away as an anonymous soul, known only to your inner circle of family and friends?

Songs, art, creative works {and even the occasional legendary forum post}

I’ve been sitting on this thought for a while, and honestly, I’ve come to realize it doesn't really matter in the end.
Unless, of course, there’s some kind of afterlife where I get to stick around as a ghost just to watch people actually vibing to some killer music I recorded...

An iron, a pack of Q-tips, some single-use earbuds, a box of fingernails and eyelashes... WTF!? Seriously, does anyone actually give a damn about what happens next? Who cares about the material or spiritual legacy left behind after you "kick the bucket"? It’s just a buffet for vultures and maggots... a total ceiling on what we leave to the scavengers out there. Material stuff is just a limit for those bottom-feeders. Everything else—the "legacy," the "character," the "inspiring art" crap... it's just pretentious melodrama from someone trying to act like they rose above life itself (and death). Humans are just fascinating monsters who, despite devouring everything in sight, feed exclusively on their own delusions of substance...

Honestly, once you're gone, none of that matters anymore. It’s what we do while we're actually here that counts. Memories and legacies don't put food on the table or pay the bills...
I just try to give my all for myself and the people I love while I'm around. That's enough for me—I've never really cared about titles or awards...

I don't care what gets left behind when I'm gone. Once I'm six feet under, it doesn't matter. That's why I live every single day like it's my last.

Why do people feel this desperate need to assign such massive importance to themselves after they’re gone? It’s just one more death among the billions yet to come.
If you look at it realistically, a decaying body is just food for the creatures living under the soil. Maybe some hungry stray dog or a coyote unearths a few bones one day. Or maybe a scavenger comes along before everything even breaks down.
Then there's the option of organ donation. Giving life through death...

Honestly, I don't give a damn about much. The only thing I know for sure is what I won't do. I'm not leaving a mountain of debt for my great-grandchildren to deal with. 🍿
