Hey there,

So, about ten days ago, I picked up a new processor along with a motherboard—specifically an Intel Core i5.

The stock cooler is being incredibly loud (like, honestly, it’s not normal) even during basic stuff like browsing on Safari or just watching movies in BS Player, let alone when I actually try to run some games. It seems to behave totally fine when I'm just sitting at the desktop, though.

Inside the case, I've got three 12cm fans positioned at the front, the side, and the top. There's definitely cool air moving around them—the side one is right by the graphics card, and the top one is just above the CPU—but that tiny 5x5 cm area immediately surrounding the CPU cooler feels insanely hot. As soon as I pop the side panel off the computer, everything cools down instantly, and the cooler finally quiets down.

Should I just grab a new cooler, or is my case just poorly designed? Maybe it lacks airflow, or maybe I've got the fans set up wrong? I guess I'm just not sure what's actually going on here. 🤦

The stock cooler is garbage.

In which direction are the fans actually blowing?

The side and top fans seem to be pulling in plenty of cool air, but I’m honestly not even sure about this front one. Since it’s positioned right at the bottom of the case, and there’s such a wide gap between the front panel and where the fan actually sits... plus, the mesh on the front is so open that I can barely tell if it's even pulling air in or pushing it out.

Try setting one fan at the front to pull air in while the others exhaust it out. Honestly, that won't really help with the noise levels; it'll just drop your temperatures a bit. You might want to swap out that stock cooler for something else—anything from $47 up to $320. Don't bother overspending on the

The side intake should be pulling air inward.
The top should be exhausting it out.
And the front? That needs to be an intake.

Also, let's be real—you really ought to upgrade from that basic stock cooler.

Honestly, I think this one would be a much better pick for you..
