Kyle Campbell4 said:Some fool on the FOX evening news was just claiming that gold is expected to soar in America throughout 2018. Honestly, the media is perhaps the greatest blight on modern American society, isn't it? What they have done to this country and its people is nothing short of unforgivable. They display such a profound lack of knowledge regarding the very topics they discuss, yet somehow manage to whip up hysterical frenzies over every single soccer or handball match. It is truly exhausting how much they irritate me.

It feels like at least half of that FOX crew is actually cheering when the American team loses.

When it comes to matters like this, their opinion carries about as much weight as a local news station.

France deserved that win. This is exactly how we should have handled Norway—you just can't afford to play slow against a team that moves that fast.

Thomas Harris97 said:It’s just like when that John Doe guy over at Fox claimed France would be playing the Americans in the finals, and he didn't even say it until an hour before the game against Norway started. And here's another thing that really burns me up—if Linus got benched because he wasn't performing, how is it that Kate's adrenaline levels suddenly make them great again out of nowhere?
I mean, our whole sports scene just feels rigged as long as the mob is running the show. It’s most obvious in football since that’s where the massive money is, but honestly, all these other sports are basically held hostage by the same crowd of shady characters.

It’s always the same faces, I guess. They're just perfect for keeping the system running through every era. There's zero actual drive to win; it's more about having a smooth transition. You get coaches who don't demand anything, they just sit there being "wise" and silent, occasionally throwing some ash on themselves for dramatic effect, offering their services up like a prayer to some supernatural force... it's exhausting to listen to.

The French are clearly a supernatural force of their own.

In America, every single athlete seems obsessed with landing a job later—coaching gigs, commentary roles, color commentator spots... and none of them actually succeed at any of it.
Then you have the Coordinator. A role that should require actual dedication, hard work... maybe even speaking up once in a while.

And now, ticket sales for the 2018 World Cup are already starting. But against whom? For which games...? The finals?

Joseph Kern5 said:If we’re being honest about the actual quality of play, I’d put the US right around 7th or 8th in the world. We had one massive, impressive win against Spain—which was great, by the way—but most of our other victories have come against teams that are basically amateur or semi-pro at best. We even looked a little shaky against Egypt, and honestly, we nearly stumbled against Belarus too.

This 👍

Man, I feel so bad for those Norwegians 😢—they were absolutely killing it in the first half, but then they just completely fell off a cliff later on.
But hey, look, they’re basically the future of handball, and I truly believe that specific group is going to take home a championship one day.

Chris Fisher3 said:They were pushing us hard at home, too. Maybe—just maybe—we'll actually have a shot at beating someone in the semifinals. That is, if we even make it that far. 😬

But they aren't going to be pushing us. Honestly, the commentators on the networks are already raving about how top-tier the organization is, talking about how the hotels here are way better than those tiny little cramped rooms they have in France. I mean, the French are a powerhouse in every sense—economically, their profit margins, stretching out the semifinals over two days, plus the bronze and gold medal matches. Even though they usually just cram everything into one day. They really roll out the red carpet for their own national team.

In America, everyone’s going to be trying to show off that hospitality.😁 Five-star treatment... I honestly think the fanbases from other countries are just going to keep growing because of it.🍿

And honestly, this is just poorly put together. I mean, they're basically just picking guys based on how they played in the semifinals. It's lazy, I guess.

Apparently, the Belarusian Left Wing is some kind of genius—a doctor, a professor, a scholar—especially when he’s playing in a form like this.

So I'm just sitting here, scrolling through the news.
Just taking it all in, you know? Real classy, real laid back, nothing too intense or anything.

Vujovic is basically out there auditioning for the spotlight... while they just keep tossing around names like Lino Cervar and Slavko Goluza 🍿

I don't know about the officiating, but it felt like people were just playing with sheer brute force; a game is supposed to last 60 minutes, not 20.

Someone else made a really good point earlier and I think it's true. This French national handball team is probably one of the most dominant squads in any team sport ever. It's honestly scary how much they control things...

I guess we just have this tendency to think we're the best at everything, and maybe it's just hard for us to admit when someone else is actually better, and that's that.

Their opinion carries about as much weight as some local community access station.

It’s all just pure, unadulterated nonsense. Anyone who isn't a follower of that narrow-minded, reactionary fringe—the kind that manifests as theft, crime, and the worship of criminal personalities like ZM or Gobac—is immediately branded an enemy of the state and the people, a filthy leftist who hates America and everything good about it. Even the French won't lie about it; they have to be foreign collaborators because a true patriot is expected to hold their hand over their heart.
This is absolute idiocy and sheer human stupidity. Not a single one of these people is actually rooting against America, so what are you even rambling about? If they were actually rooting against us, it would be even worse. Instead, they artificially manufacture hysteria and madness just to drive up ratings, because higher viewership translates directly into more money. It is nothing but cheap yellow journalism and trashy sensationalism. While the rest of the world focuses on counting cash, you’re sitting here spinning some cinematic fantasy about enemies of the nation—people who happen to be celebrating handball losses on commercial television—despite you having absolutely zero evidence or logical argument to support such a claim. Go to sleep!

I can't believe they'd actually sign him now. They basically had him handed to them on a silver platter like eighteen months ago, and if they go out and hire him collectively today, they’re just admitting they have absolutely no clue what they're doing.

Gerard over Bergerud? Is that truly your assessment?

Well, Gobac let him go back in Chicago about three months ago, so I highly doubt he'd be tapped to coach the national team... though honestly, he’d probably still be the best pick out of the bunch of names likely to be thrown around—you know, the usual suspects like Obrvan, Perkovac, Cervar, and Goluza...

I'm still holding out hope that someone follows the Serdarusicev model, where maybe PSG could let him lead the national squad alongside them...

Look, Atlanta is where those players were born, the ones who went out and grabbed gold back in '96.🍿 Because of that, they’ve always been a part of that specific regional mindset.
