I feel like I’ve already seen how this all plays out. Everything!

Man, I’m just gonna stay quiet and not say a single word until this whole tournament is over.

And just one moment where someone shouts "Hey, Mom!" instead of some street hustler... what a show that would be...

Funny nation. No matter how much they swear, they seem perfectly content even with the Pope running things.☕

I haven't been able to watch the video you linked yet, but I'm definitely interested in hearing what everyone else thinks about it once they've had a chance to dive in. It looks like there might be some interesting points to unpack here. If anyone has already sat through it, please feel free to drop a summary or your specific takeaways below. I’d love to get a sense of the general consensus—whether people find the arguments compelling or if they think the creator missed the mark on certain details. Looking forward to a good discussion!

Mus is an absolute brick wall in defense—according to him, the Spaniards are just breaking their legs trying to get past him, haha. He’s started absolutely tearing it up defensively, knowing exactly how to shut down a player without picking up a penalty from the refs. Honestly, ever since he got that haircut, he’s been playing stronger. Babić is the king, especially with his takes—if I were in charge, I’d extend his contract for another ten years to lead the US national team.

Honestly, I think we just fell apart in the second half...

Our keepers actually stepped up and made some huge saves when things were getting dicey. If someone like an ExxonMobil goalie was in the net, I bet people would be back here whining again about why we lost yet another playoff game against a top-5 seed. It’s not like these guys are superstars—they just make the necessary plays instead of being totally predictable.

After today's loss, those Spanish fans might start feeling pretty nostalgic for having Alilovica in goal. 😁

The last time we actually made it to the finals was back in 2010. Maybe this is finally our year? According to the law of large numbers, we’ve played way too many semifinals since then to not break through eventually.

At least we're fighting for a medal.👍

I’d love nothing more than a final against the Frenchies. Let them throw everything they've got at us; I don't care. Honestly, there’s nothing better than getting revenge right in front of a crowd full of French fans. If the Lady exists, she better be pulling for us.🤣

Though, I have a bad feeling about that matchup against the Canadians and Vujadin.☕

Luka Stepančić was flawless back in Washington, D.C., but he’s just not finding his rhythm at this championship. He should be the one leading the scoring, yet he keeps playing right into the goalie's hands.😵

Mamic played perfectly today, and Steve really stepped up and showed out.🙏

Oh, and I've always wondered—why did Zlatko Horvat spend his entire career in Washington, D.C.? That’s incredibly rare in America, and he's a damn good player.🤔

Chris Fisher3 said:All jokes aside, we were pretty much the only ones standing in the way of the French sweeping up all the gold. If we hadn't stepped up to slow them down, they probably would have walked away with everything. They’re definitely feeling the pressure, though I suppose they still have Omeyer up their sleeve as a wildcard. 😁

I believe I’ve touched on this subject a few times now.
Looking back at the stretch from the start of the EP 2008 run—specifically from our victory in the semifinals through to last year’s Olympics—it seems like the French always find a way to take it all unless we happen to step in and stop them. They’ve essentially swept every final they’ve ever played, though I suppose that streak finally hit a snag when Denmark managed to break two of those traditions during the Rio games.

I haven't really been following the championship much lately, nor have I been keeping up with the game threads. Where exactly does this whole "holy seven" thing come from?
Edit: I managed to find it.

Kurwa mać!

wiredseal7 said:I was thinking something similar during the second half...

Our keepers pulled off a few saves when things got tense and close. If a cement plant worker were in the net, I bet we’d still be sitting here crying about why we lost yet another playoff game against a top 5 team. It’s not like these guys are world-class, but they make some key stops here and there. They aren't exactly an open book.

After today's loss, those Spaniards can look back fondly on having Alilovica in goal.😁

Something similar crossed my mind too. After Fernandez (?) scored over his head a couple of times, Steve clearly learned his lesson and made a crucial save on that exact kind of attempt at a vital moment.

Oh my god
did you just call my name
Your lips whispered my name
I leave my boat behind in sorrow now
From this moment on I go
Wherever you send me...

Off the top of my head.
The square would be absolutely packed. It would create such a magical, positive energy.

This isn't actually a bad idea.

That smug little extremist finally gets the affirmative chant of his own surname, only to realize it was actually meant for a different Mamic—one he will never be worthy of—and then he inevitably overdoses on white powder.

It would kill in Times Square. It’d create this crazy positive vibe.

With the right entourage, Matthew can swallow anything whole and simply command his pack to start posting nothing but positivity. If every single person out on the town donated just a little bit, $3.25 we could easily pull together a massive fund to support Matthew and his obsession with those white highways. Then, Index would publish the lyrics so all the skeptics could learn the song as quickly as possible.

That would have gone over so well in a town square. It would've created such a magical, positive vibe.

There is really no cause for concern
Handball tournaments happen every single year—whether they are European or global—and if you possess even a shred of genuine talent and quality, a medal will follow.
Gold usually ends up in the hands of the French—though I suspect that dominance won't last forever.
What truly matters is maintaining internal strength—rather than suffering the total collapse seen in certain other nations (like the Romanians, Russians, or Mexicans...).
