Hey, I'm looking to put together a new budget gaming PC, minus the monitor and peripherals.

The budget is sitting at $4,000, and I mainly want it for gaming.
I'm planning on upgrading the hard drive and RAM later on anyway...

P.S. Anywhere except the Bronx or Queens. Thanks!

So, what’s the plan for upgrading the RAM and the hard drive? Are you planning on including both the HDD and the RAM in the new build, or are you sticking with what you've already got?

Look, my budget is sitting right around $1167 bucks.
Yeah, I definitely need an HDD and some RAM. I’m not planning on moving anything over from my old budget gaming PC since I'm just gonna give that away...
Thanks!

I guess that Kingston 1x8GB DDR4 2133 C15 stick—the KNG-KVR21N15S8-8—is sitting at $271.69. Maybe?
EVGA 500 W XE Series 80 Bronze, XFX-P1-500B-XTFR
Seagate BarraCuda 1TB 3.5''
The MS CHAMPION gaming case—just the chassis, no PSU included.
Intel Core i3 6100 ASUS H110 desktop
Intel Core i3 6100 ASUS H110 desktop (LGA1151, DDR4, USB3.1, USB2.0, SATA III, DVI, VGA, Audio, LAN) H110M_PRO-VD_PLUS
I think you might have sent that by mistake? Or maybe I missed something. Anyway, let me know if there was something specific you wanted to discuss. An MS PC COOL 12cm case fan.

All in all: $860 I guess I should probably get started on this. Maybe?

I’d probably hold off on buying the graphics card for now. I guess you could probably get by on integrated graphics for another two or three weeks. 🙂

Cheers crimsonstag84, but my budget is actually a bit $333 higher. 🙂 I'm looking at roughly $3,500, cash on hand.
The thing is, I need a full build from scratch—I'm just gonna buy a new GPU for my old rig anyway to get it up to speed...

Did you catch that sentence below? 😛

That $150 is meant for the graphics card... I’d say just pick one up later once the next generation drops. Until then, you can probably just get by on the integrated graphics.

I hear you. 🙂

Alright, if you were forced to pick a GPU from what's hitting the shelves right now, which one would you go with?
PS. How much of a budget stretch am I looking at to jump up to an i5? Thanks.

Honestly, nothing else is going to fit in that rig except a GTX 750Ti.
If you opt for the i5, which is going to run you an extra $90 or so, you'll be left with peanuts for a GPU—and we both know that means a pretty miserable gaming experience.
