So, I’ve got a standard MSI Radeon R7 260, and I’m starting to think my GPU is acting up. Basically, whenever I finish a race in Gran Turismo or Gran Turismo Autosport, the whole thing starts stuttering like crazy and the screen just goes black for about two minutes. It’s like the entire system just freezes solid. And don't even get me started on games like League of Legends. Something happens—like someone gets taken out in a fight—and my screen just hangs for two seconds, leaving me totally helpless. I originally picked this card because I saw some comparisons between the GeForce GTX 750 and the Radeon R7 260 where AMD had much more vibrant colors, but this constant lagging is driving me nuts. The MSI card itself is solid; temps are fine and the color contrast looks great, but these freezes are seriously getting on my nerves. Is it actually worth swapping this out for a GeForce GTX 750, or what should I do?

How exactly do you plan on swapping it out? If they actually approve the warranty claim, I mean. Because if we're talking raw performance, you’d basically be looking at a sidegrade, if not a slight downgrade overall.

Have you tried testing different drivers yet? You should probably wipe the old ones completely using something like Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) first.

I ended up deciding against the swap. There just aren't many GeForce GTX 750s out there right now.

I messed around with both the old and new drivers, but the issue is still there.

Thanks anyway, but I think I'll just call it a day on this one.

Freezing isn't always the GPU's fault. You should probably run a check on your drives first—use something like HD Tune to run an error scan and check the drive health.

It could also be an issue with the game itself (try a reinstall) or even just your network connection, like high ping or server-side lag.

I ran a quick check on my drives using CrystalDiskInfo, and according to the report, everything looks solid.
