Cat jumped on my keyboard and now my screen is black!!!

Hi there, looking for a bit of help here. My cat decided to take a leap onto my MacBook Pro keyboard, and apparently, she hit a key combination that dimmed my screen completely. Does anyone know how I can turn the brightness back up? It’s so dark right now that reading anything is nearly impossible.

Try holding down the Fn key and look for the keys marked with blue letters—those are your brightness controls. Based on this image http://www.ruggedpcreview.com/images...tion_large.jpg, you'll probably see an Up and Down arrow—one should handle the brightness adjustment automatically

It’s not that your screen is dimmed, it’s that it’s "dimmed" with an extra N. I honestly don't know where this new trend came from, where people start swapping out standard spelling for something else entirely. What’s next, are we going to start calling a chimney a "smokey-stack" or something equally ridiculous?!

dim—darkened.
