Hey everyone!

I’m pretty much clueless when it comes to PC hardware, so I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction for picking out parts for a new build.
It’s mostly just going to be for basic stuff—browsing the web, watching movies, listening to music... what I really care about is keeping it quiet and snappy. Ideally, I want a 240 GB SSD and a 500 GB HDD, all while trying to stay under $1000.

Thanks!

If only things worked better between the USA and downtown.

EDIT:

The AMD A8 x4 7600 Corsair DDR3 HyperX Fury.
Kingston DDR3 HyperX Fury, 1866MHz, 8GB Black HX318C10FB/8
EVGA 400W. 80 Plus, active cooling, 12cm fan.
Samsung 850 EVO 256GB SSD, 2.5” 7mm, SATA 6 Gbit/s, Read/Write: 520 MB/s / 470 MB/s, Samsung 850 EVO
Zalman mini tower case, black, ZAL-A1.
Seagate DT01ACA050 500
The LC Power LC-CC-95 90mm cooler is just another basic heatsink. It does the job if you're building a budget rig, but don't expect miracles.
ASUS Main board desktop AMD A68

All in all: $979 Downtown.

Unbelievable. What a joke. 😁 Happens to the best of us. Building a PC after a long night of drinking is always a disaster. 🤣

Thanks, guys!
Got another question for you...
When I'm installing Windows on either of these two setups, do I actually need to worry about whether they're 32-bit or 64-bit?

One more thing...

You definitely want a 64-bit OS. If you go with 32-bit, you won't be able to use more than 3.5GB of RAM.
