I’ve been running a Motorola Razr router on my AT&T line since 2008, and honestly, it’s been rock solid until recently. Over the last month, though, the connection keeps dropping, and the router just decides to reboot itself several times a day. It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing—it isn't tied to specific apps or heavy downloads—it just happens out of nowhere. The connection comes back online after about a minute, but it's incredibly frustrating when a large download or upload gets cut halfway through.

My Gigaset WLAN USB adapter 54 is working fine; the driver is installed and the indicator light stays on, so I don't think that's the culprit. I'm using WPA encryption.

I've already run a deep scan, so I'm certain there's no malware on the system.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Here’s a screenshot showing my ADSL line quality:

If you need any more diagnostic info, just let me know and I'll post it...

Just give AT&T a call and let them know you're unhappy. It’s way more effective than just venting here on the forum. Honestly, there’s a good chance they might even send you a brand-new one for free.

That router belongs in a museum. Just call AT&T and have them drop off a new one.

Are we talking about physical wear and tear here, or are you saying the model itself is just obsolete? Because if it's the latter, I disagree. From what I hear, AT&T still carries the Motorola Razr, and it’s actually one of the most solid routers they offer...

Physically, some chip fried and now the whole thing is falling apart. Just call them up and have them swap out the gear... done.
