Medical marijuana legalization

Are you folks in favor or against this? I'd love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or any advice you might have.
Personally, I support the legalization of cannabis in America for both medical and recreational use.

I shouldn't have been surprised that you're backing the recreational side too—that explains why you're so fired up about it. 😁
If you think people are going to be able to walk into a pharmacy and pick up flower for medical use anytime soon, you're dreaming. We're talking strictly about cannabinoid-based medicinal preparations until actual pharmaceutical drugs based on those compounds get fully registered. You won't be seeing anything like that sitting on a drugstore shelf anytime soon.

I am definitely on board with this—I'm 60 years old and have been dealing with Cancer in my tonsils, so believe me, I've been through the wringer. Luckily, I had access to a great supplier and found some high-quality oil that really helped me out after radiation—helped with my appetite, sleep, and even my immune system. My doctors even told me it wouldn't hurt and might actually help! Honestly, I just wish I could smoke a little bit too, just to take my mind off everything for a moment. So, yeah, I totally support the new law, but at the end of the day, it's up to each individual whether they want to use it or not.

I’ve been dealing with chronic hemifacial spasm... if I can't find relief, at least I'm hoping I'll be able to get some cannabis oil this fall... not the kind you find at BioNTech, but the stuff with actual TLC in it.

It’s all right there if you bother to look—the information is publicly available on the National Cancer Institute website, tucked away in their Q&A section regarding cannabis and cannabinoids. According to the NCI, research conducted on mice and rats has demonstrated that cannabis—specifically its active components, TLC and CBD—actually does kill off cancer cells...

And what about metastases? Does that get cured too? ☕

The whole thing started when the British tabloid Mirror cited Cancer.gov—the official site for the National Cancer Institute (NCI)—which updated its advisory Q&A section on cannabis back in July. They explain what cannabis actually is, and they mention certain mouse and rat studies showing that cannabinoids (the active bits in the plant) might kill specific types of tumor cells. But—and this is a big but—they explicitly state that if you look in PubMed, the gold standard for medical databases, there isn't a single clinical study proving cannabis works as a cancer cure...

Dr. Ognjen Brborović also thinks these media reports claiming marijuana treats malignant diseases lack any real scientific footing—he happens to lead the government investigative commission tasked with analyzing and recommending how to use industrial hemp and cannabinoids for medical purposes.

Honestly? Trust the millions of people who have used it to ease their symptoms or even recover entirely. People say there aren't enough tests, but hemp has been smoked since the dawn of time. Nobody died from it back then. Does a formal test really need to happen before we rule out lethality, or can testing run parallel to usage—kind of like how it's happening now, just under the radar because it's illegal? Don't swallow everything you read. Stick to the facts: people have been using this for ages. It feels like these are just political moves designed to benefit someone else, likely by pushing pharmaceutical capsules instead.

I know plenty of people fighting Cancer who used marijuana or took oil from the very start of their diagnosis, and unfortunately, every single one of them lost their battle. Beyond just taking the edge off chemotherapy side effects, nothing sensational happened.
Claiming that cannabis cures Cancer is scientifically idiotic. Cancer isn't one thing; it’s a broad umbrella term for a massive variety of malignant diseases that differ wildly in cellular structure. It is fundamentally impossible for one single substance to interact with all those different cell division processes in the exact same way. There is no "magic bullet" for Cancer, and there never will be.
We need to get real and put things in perspective: acknowledge that cannabis might offer some relief for specific symptoms or conditions, but admit it is nowhere near a universal cure for Cancer.

The in vivo mouse studies showed promise for certain diagnoses, but now we need large-scale, randomized clinical trials involving human subjects. That’s the only way to actually prove efficacy and determine precise dosages and administration methods tailored to specific diagnoses, disease stages, and malignancy levels.
That is the standard procedure for absolutely every medication and substance before it gets registered and cleared for clinical practice.
