Why the sudden flood of yellow card appeals in the news?

Lately, I’ve been watching this absolute madness unfolding over on the Politics sub thanks.
I honestly can’t wrap my head around why people are getting hit with yellow card appeals; from where I’m sitting, there isn't even anything remotely controversial about those posts.
I’d love for someone to just walk me through the logic here—purely so I don't end up facing my own yellow card appeal for breaking some rule I didn't even know existed.
Check out these examples:

If you can't be bothered to actually read the subforum rules—or even just the guidelines for this specific thread 🤷

In short:

Dropping links in a foreign language without providing an English summary or explanation
Personal attacks (ad hominem)
Straight-up insults
Using slurs or derogatory names for politicians
Just being a pure troll

It seems pretty obvious to me—and I don't even usually post in the politics section—so I find it hard to believe you're struggling with this.
Besides, you've already been told that other people's yellow card appeals have nothing to do with you.

This subforum is supposedly the spot for dropping complaints, pitching ideas, filing appeals, or just leaving general feedback.
It doesn’t say anywhere that we aren't allowed to weigh in on someone else's yellow card appeal.

Post 421 doesn't actually fall under any of those categories.
The link in the foreign language was already broken down in plain English over in post 437.
And that same foreign link was explained in English back in post 448.

As for the insults in post 4282—fine. I guess I didn't realize we weren't even allowed to call people names if they aren't even members of this forum anymore.
I don't see an ad hominem attack in post 4281; all I see is a sharp, heated debate. But hey, whatever, if that's how the moderator sees it, then okay.

I have no intention of litigating someone else's criminal record... The fact that this is a new thread doesn't change the reality: we're looking at various people's priors discussed across different topics for all sorts of offenses, none of which have anything to do with you. So, no thank you.
