You could really hear the heartbreak in the voices of our favorite commentators when Mark left Fernando Alonso out in the cold.

Honestly, someone needs to put a heavy weighted ankle cuff on Pastor Maldonado and send him off to go break rocks in the desert for a while—assuming he’s actually got enough sense to figure out how to swing a hammer.

Helmut Marko has already started "fine-tuning" Mark Webber’s car ahead of the race at the Hockenheimring...

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing when I posted earlier... but looking at how the race actually played out, that was really their best shot at a win.
It probably would have been smarter for Fernando to start on the hard tires and then switch back to hards, just to build a decent cushion before moving to the softs... unfortunately, Ferrari just couldn't find any grip with those softer compounds.
It’s a shame, honestly. I feel like Fernando earned that victory (though "earning it" is a bit of a relative term this season). He maintained a great pace for 40 laps and managed his tires beautifully during those first two stints.
Congrats to Mark.

I suspect Fernando started losing ground right before his pit stop, but I'll need to double-check the lap times to be certain.

Finally, a classic race! No rain, no Safety Car, just pure, uninterrupted racing.
Webber really showed everyone how much better he handles the car without EBD. Alonso made a slight
misstep along the way, while Vettel nailed two incredible laps right when it mattered most, picking up positions through
the pits. Massa was surprisingly solid, and Lotus seems to be proving they’re just one
tiny step away from greatness. Meanwhile, McLaren is on a downward slide, yet the ever-resilient Senna managed to drag
Williams back into the points once again. Don't sweat the situation with Pastor Maldonado; I'm sure Hugo will settle things with the
circus soon enough. He can always fall back on that fiery Latin temperament to justify himself.

Man, I’m pretty gutted—it feels like a total gut punch when you should've had the win in the bag.😠 Once again, the geniuses over at Ferrari completely blew it with their strategy. Though, if I'm being honest... looking at how we finished last in Q2 and somehow clawed our way up to second—beating out both Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton—maybe it’s not as bad as it feels...
