Hi there,

I’m looking for some advice on a build. I need a machine capable of handling the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, and for gaming, my only requirement is running League of Legends on high settings. I definitely want an SSD included, and I might also be looking for a monitor recommendation—nothing too crazy. Also, I need a graphics card that can support two monitors plus a TV.

Someone suggested this specific configuration to me, so I’d love to get your take on it.

1 x AMD FX X6 6300 (3.5GHz, 14MB, 95W, AM3+) box
1 x Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 (AM3+, DDR3, VGA, SATA II, LAN, USB 2.0) mATX, 95W CPU
1 x Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB 1866MHz DDR3 CL10
1 x CPU Cooler LC-CC-95, Intel/AMD, 90mm 4-pin
1 x Kingston 120 GB SSD, HyperX Fury SATA 3 2.5"
1 x GAINWARD GTX950-2048-Dual DVI HDMI DP
1 x MS KNIGHT black case, no PSU
1 x Antec VP400PC 400W Power Supply, 80+, 120mm

+ this AOC LED 24" E2470SWDA monitor, VGA, DVI, audio.

Someone suggested this build, what do you guys think?

1 x AMD FX X6 6300 (3.5GHz,14MB,95W,AM3+) box

1 x GAINWARD GTX950-2048-Dual DVI HDMI DP

1 x Antec VP400PC 400W PSU, 80+, 120mm

No, no, and definitely no.😁 Everything is fine except the motherboard... looks like the cheapest option available. If you're buying, get a monitor with an IPS panel, especially if you're doing Adobe work. Colors will actually look decent.

If you can stretch the budget a bit, try this:
1 x Gigabyte 970A-DS3P, AM3+, AMD 970 SB950, 4x DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1866
1 x AMD FX-Series X6 6300 Processor 3.5GHz,14MB,95W,AM3+, FD6300WMHK
1 x DDR3 8GB (1x8GB) Kingston, Value, 1600MHz, CL11, KVR16N11/8
1 x Kingston 120 GB SSD HyperX Fury, 2.5", SATA 3 6G
1 x FORTRON 400W PSU, HEXA plus 400, 12cm fan
1 x MS KNIGHT midi tower case without PSU
1 x LC Power Cosmo Cool, 92 mm, Hydraulic bearing, 800-2200 rpm,
1 x LG 22MP47D-P IPS, 21.5", 16:9, 1920x1080, 250 cd/m2, 5,000,000:1
1 x Gigabyte GTX950 WF2 Overclocked, 2GB GDDR5
$1728

Otherwise, swap that GPU for a GTX 750ti... League of Legends will run on max and you can plug everything you need into it.

In that case, you might as well just pick up a decent monitor. For playing League of Legends, an Intel processor is going to be a much better bet, and I suspect it would handle Adobe software reasonably well too.

1 x Adobe 1 x Samsung LS24D590PLX, 23.6" LED, 16:9 (AD-PLS), 1920x1080, D-Sub
1 x Intel Core i3-4170 (3.70GHz,512KB,3MB,54 W,1150) Box
1 x Asrock H81M-HDS, s1150, Intel H81, M-ATX, dual Channel 2xDDR3
1 x MSI GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5, N750Ti-2GD5/OCV1, Dual-link DVI-D x 1
1 x DDR3 8GB (1x8GB) Kingston, Value, 1600MHz, CL11, KVR16N11/8
1 x Power Supply FORTRON 400W, HEXA plus 400, 12cm fan
1 x Kingston 120 GB HyperX Fury, 2.5", SATA 3 6G
1 x Zalman T5 mini tower case. 170(W) x 427(H) x 348(D)mm.

League of Legends isn't even CPU bound; playing it is almost like playing Tetris.

An old Athlon Dual can pull at least 90fps minimum.

That applies to World of Tanks, you're kind of mixing things up 😁
