Modem driver issues

Greetings. I am planning to upgrade my system to Windows 7 tomorrow. I ran the Windows 7 upgrade advisor, but it flagged an issue stating that a driver for my modem is missing. Despite my efforts, I have been unable to locate this specific driver anywhere online. Does this imply that once the installation is complete, I will find myself without any internet connectivity?

Are you even using a modem on that computer?

Modems were the devices we used back before ADSL routers became the standard for getting online. Nowadays, an ADSL router connects to your computer via a network card—whether that's wired or wireless—rather than through a modem.

My apologies, I misspoke earlier; it isn't actually a modem, but an ADSL router. I am having quite a bit of trouble locating the correct driver for it. Under the 'action recommended' section, it states: "Before installing Windows 7, go to the device manufacturer's website to download the latest driver for this device. After installing Windows 7, install the saved driver." I find myself at a bit of a loss here—does anyone have any advice on how I should proceed?

An ADSL router router isn't something you'll find built into your PC. Send over a screenshot of what you're actually seeing on your screen. 😉

I’m pretty sure you don't even need a driver for an ADSL router. The only thing that might actually require one would be the network card built into your PC—if that's even an issue.

Maybe drop a screenshot here, just like rowdybadger18 suggested.

All you really need is the network card driver—and you definitely already have those. Between the Ethernet and the Wi-Fi, you should be more than set to get online in this day and age. You won't need any extra hardware like a modem or an ADSL router on a laptop anymore.
