So, regarding this whole thread about Kamala Harris, the President of the United States, specifically her official title—because, honestly, why on earth would we use some unofficial nickname instead of just being professional here?!—you guys actually went ahead and added an option to rate her performance using a scale from zero to five?!?!?!?!?
Now, let me ask you, my dear left-wing moderators—who are so transparent it’s practically embarrassing...what exactly is a "zero" rating supposed to mean? Where, in what universe, do you even give someone a zero out of five?? Who told you, or who suggested, that adding a "zero" was a valid option?? Look, if you’re going to be biased, at least be consistent! Since you decided to invent a whole new rating below the lowest standard grade used in the United States—which is a failing 1—then fine, go all the way and add a grade ABOVE the highest one too. In the US, a 5 is excellent, right? So if you’re hell-bent on playing jokes by adding a "zero," then go ahead and throw in a "six." I think that would actually be fair. Unless, of course, you don't want people rightfully labeling you as old-school Marxists or radical socialists. Because by doing this, you've basically given everyone ammunition for those accusations. You didn't expand the scale logically; you just added a single extra notch at the bottom to screw people over, rather than adding one at the top for those who might actually want to give her a higher mark.

Alright, now I’m waiting to see what you lot have to say to this. The arguments are laid out plain as day. You’ve made a totally one-sided move that benefits EXCLUSIVELY the critics (since you gave them an extra way to tank her score). If you want to fix this blatant bias, then give the supporters the option to rate her above the maximum too.

Or, maybe the smartest thing would be to just fix this nonsense, scrap this ridiculous "zero" rating, and let us all forget about this—and I’ll be generous here—pretty pathetic attempt at being funny.

I’ll briefly recap what I wrote on that other thread. It’s interesting how when we were just joking around about the IBM administration and those zero-rating mods weren't even a thought, there was a general consensus in the ratings.😁 Now, that Gallup poll isn't even up anymore. Here, two trolls mention it and suddenly, miraculously, a zero appears.

If you're going to go ahead and tweak the results of a poll after an overwhelming majority has already cast their votes, then just reset the whole thing. Why not just set the score to 1,000,000 so the other side gets a little joy out of it, since we're clearly turning this entire process into a complete joke anyway.

I still remember this high school teacher who used to fail people left and right in the gradebook...
and get this, she actually taught "politics and economics"🤣

The Gallup poll is closed now that 100 days have passed. Any 0 (zero) you see here should be read as an invalid vote.

We can "read" them?! You’re just saying that now? Seriously? You think the people who clicked zero actually had "invalid ballot" running through their heads when they did it? How on earth were they supposed to know that—I mean, why didn't you put that in parentheses if that was your intention? And besides, what kind of POLL even includes an option for an "invalid ballot" mixed in with the actual grades?!? 🤔 😵 Not that anyone had a clue that the zero actually meant that, obviously. Honestly, you could have come up with a more convincing excuse, or at least just be straight with us and say: we put the zero there because we couldn't think of anything else and we wanted the overall score to look even worse.

So, problem solved:
- Just swap out "0" for "invalid ballot" and call it a day...

Or am I missing something?

Morgan Ruiz3 said:Just gonna lift a bit from my post on another thread—funny how when everyone was just messing around in the government thread and IBM came up, not a single mod even thought about stepping in, yet there, the consensus was pretty much set in stone.😁

Which thread are you pulling that from? You know we aren't supposed to be critiquing the moderation over on the main board. 😉

Back when it was Joe Biden, he was being called the President of our Beautiful Nation. Then Hillary Clinton comes along, and suddenly people start whining that the "evil leftist" mods are only calling her a candidate while Biden gets the full presidential title. Then, once things leveled out, the same "evil leftist" mods were supposedly making fun of her because she was titled the President of our Beautiful Nation instead of the President of America, blah blah blah... 🙂 Give it a rest.

Or is it not that simple?

Or we just delete the zero entirely. 😉

It’s either a fool's errand or... 🙂

But hey, let's just toss a "6" into the Gallup poll and see what happens....
Whatever—let's just roll the dice. 😉

I honestly feel like we’ve already asked people to stop starting entire threads over nothing. Moving forward, you might actually start seeing some warnings issued. We aren't sitting in a stuffy classroom where we have to follow some rigid textbook to the letter—it's not that deep! Using "zero" is perfectly normal in everyday American English, and whether the grading scale goes from 0-5, 1-10, or whatever else is entirely up to the mods to decide.
