Half this thread is just pure insults, and the mods are basically sitting there twiddling their thumbs. Not a single yellow card issued. Get it together.

What a total joke this PDF format is. 🙏 The mods claim they’re staying on topic, but everything here is just wide open. I even tried clicking the little arrow on the posts, but clearly, nobody gives a damn. 🙏

I honestly can't wait for the day I finally get banned for "insulting" Zuckerberg. That'll be the icing on the cake. 😵

It’s basically just a gendered corner of the internet. The women have their own space, the men have theirs, and everyone stays in their lane.

Do you really have nothing better to do with your life than get worked up over some petty bickering? 🍿

Ugh, don't even get me started on MK. 🙄

I have much better things to do with my time, but it really grinds my gears when mods just ignore blatant insults. I’ve sent in nearly a dozen reports over the last week alone, and not a single post has been taken down. You’d think they could at least establish a universal standard for verbal abuse on this forum. It feels like trolling or going off-topic gets flagged instantly on certain subforums, but outright insults? That seems to be a free pass. It’s total bullshit. If I follow the logic here, it’s like being told insults are actually allowed. If I started calling people idiots or throwing insults around, it would just be a matter of time before some mod slapped me with a ban. But how do you even justify that? They’re just digging their own graves for when things inevitably blow up later. What kind of moderation is that? 🤷

Honestly, they should just update the subforum rules to say "insults are permitted" and call it a day. At least then everyone knows the deal. Keeping it like this means some people get away with being jerks while others get punished. What does that tell you? It tells you that whether an insult sticks depends entirely on the moderator's mood. And what dictates a moderator's mood? Who knows—maybe how their day went, or maybe the fact that they clearly play favorites with certain users, just like everyone else does. It can't work this way. I honestly don't understand the criteria used to pick these moderators in the first place. This isn't a community; it's the Wild West.

Calling someone stupid isn't some subtle jab; it's a direct hit.

Look, it is what it is. On Zuckerberg’s platform, they stopped policing that kind of stuff ages ago.
That doesn't mean the subforum has turned into some lawless playground where anyone can just vent their spleen at whoever they feel like. Just post your thoughts, get involved in the actual discussions properly, and then the occasional bit of trash-talking or back-and-forth won't be such a huge deal.

That doesn't mean the subreddits have turned into a free-for-all where anyone can just vent whatever nonsense pops into their head. Just join the conversation, participate normally, and the occasional bit of banter or back-and-forth won't be an issue.

So, basically, I could just randomly call someone a total loser or some other trash on Facebook without getting banned? 🙂

I definitely wouldn't recommend that second option.

Honestly, anything from how their morning went to the fact that they definitely have their favorites among the users (just like everyone else does). It shouldn't work this way.

You've been around here long enough to realize that's just how it works on every single thread. Some people have more leeway than others. Total first-world problem. 🙂

As I recall, some ladies over at Zuckerberg’s place were asking for a bit more leeway with personal expression and maybe even a little chick fight once in a while. Beyond that, we have the mod team to step in and enforce (not 😁randomly) the rules when things go too far.
Now, most of what’s being complained about should be scrapped immediately. It’s clearly just there to coddle the hypersensitive feelings of a handful of people who can't handle a bit of banter within the group and don't know how to take a joke.
So, what's the fix? Do we appoint some new moral authority—in which case, just for the hell of it, I’ll start demanding that every woman planning to post on this site provides official proof that she wears a hijab 😁? Or is the solution to actually adapt to the society you choose to live in, rather than demanding that society bends to your every whim? Alternatively, you could just find a community that thinks and acts in a way that respects the original intent of the topic. I'll leave that judgment call up to the OP.

Joseph Allen71 👋

It’s more than just that. Over at Zuckerberg, we have this wonderful little tradition that really ought to exist on every other subreddit: Tutić. (Herbicidna came up with the name, though the original spark was Alexina's idea; shoutout to those two 😁)
Look, if even this relaxed vibe allowed here in the Women's Corner isn't open enough for certain debates or heated arguments, there's still a dedicated thread where you can let loose and vent without holding back. Either you'll find it, or the mods will just move you there themselves.

It’s more than that. Over at Facebook, we actually have this great little corner that should exist on every other forum, called Tutić. (Herbicidna came up with the name, but Alexina had the original idea; thanks girls 😁)
Basically, if even a flexible style like what they allow in the Women's Corner isn't free enough for certain debates or call-outs, there's still a thread where you can just vent and talk trash without holding back. Or the mods will just move you there themselves.

Forget those forums where you can just call someone monumentally stupid and act like a jerk. That’s not being "flexible," it’s just being low-class. And honestly, it’s pathetic to be proud of saying stuff like that thinking it entertains people. If it does, God help them. 😢

For anything else, we have the mod team to step in and fix things (not 😁randomly) according to the rules.
Now, as for that specific thing—it should be scrapped immediately because it offends the delicate sensibilities of a handful of people who can't handle a little edge within the group and don't know how to deal with it.
Is the solution to appoint a new moral compass? (In which case, just for the hell of it, I’ll demand that any woman wanting to post here provides an official certificate proving she wears a hijab 😁). Or is the solution to adapt to the society you want to live in, rather than demanding that society bend to your every whim? Or perhaps find a society that thinks (or acts crazy) in a way that suits the OP's preferences. I'll leave that assessment to the OP itself.

Bravo. If you ever find yourself in a post-apocalyptic scenario where people are killing and looting without mercy, just adapt. Kill and loot right back. 👋

What actually bothers the OP is this: since insults aren't allowed, an insult can be punished depending entirely on a moderator's mood. As I mentioned before, a moderator's mood at any given moment depends on a thousand different trivialities. Rachel Ramos27 confirmed my point perfectly when she suggested she wouldn't recommend calling someone a "cum bucket." Based on that logic, why does she consider calling someone "monumentally stupid" an insult? Is it because calling someone a slut is objectively worse than calling them stupid, or did I just hit a nerve with Rachel Ramos27? If it's the former, I'd love an explanation so I can understand which insults cross the line and avoid them. If it's the latter, then it's just her subjective reaction to my insult, which isn't inherently worse than other insults that might go unpunished. In that case, who's to say another person's insult, if left unchecked by a moderator, wouldn't be subjectively felt to be even worse than "cum bucket," yet wouldn't get flagged?

Ultimately, how am I supposed to follow the rules if I don't even know which insults constitute a violation? Consequently, on what basis can I even be punished for an insult at all?

It's also interesting how the moderator mentioned in this post wisely backed away when I asked about the difference between two specific insults. 🤣

The rules and the moderation here are a total comedy. 😵

Nah, I just didn't feel like sitting around waiting for some future update where they finally decide to pair up mindless, absolute nonsense with actually calling people stupid.

Anyway, over on Zuckerberg’s platform, they just take that kind of mindless, brainless hair-pulling nonsense and dump it straight into the appropriate subreddits. Look, I’ve been seeing everyone lose their minds over Temu lately—either acting like it’s some kind of miracle or treating it like a digital crime scene—but honestly? It’s just the Wild West of e-commerce. It's basically the Amazon of extreme budget shopping, except instead of Prime shipping, you're playing a high-stakes game of "will this actually arrive before my grandkids graduate?" The whole vibe is chaotic. You see these ads everywhere, promising you a $40 smartwatch for like, ninety cents. And yeah, technically, you can get stuff that looks vaguely like the picture, but let's be real—it’s often a gamble. It’s like walking into a flea market in a sketchy part of town; you might find a hidden gem, or you might walk away with a piece of plastic that breaks if you look at it too hard. People are freaking out about data privacy, which, okay, fair enough. In an era where even big players like Meta or Google are constantly under fire for how they handle our info, a massive overseas platform digging into your browsing habits feels extra spicy. But at the end of the day, most people are willing to trade a little bit of digital privacy for a $2 spatula or some cheap earbuds. We’ve all done it. It’s not exactly "high fashion" or "luxury quality," obviously. If you go in expecting anything other than pure, unadulterated chaos, you're going to be disappointed. But if you treat it like a digital junk drawer where you hunt for weird gadgets and things you probably don't need, it’s actually kind of a blast. Just don't come crying to me when your "ergonomic mouse" turns out to be a glorified paperweight.Look, here’s the deal—the mods weren't even around when things started getting heated and people were going at it. By the time I actually showed up, the whole argument had already fizzled out, so I didn't bother stepping in to pivot the conversation. If everyone had kept acting like total jerks and the fighting had stayed at that level, then yeah, I definitely would've stepped in to shut it down.
So, after all that back-and-forth, we finally pulled the trigger and moved those controversial posts over there—and yeah, it’s officially done.

Anyway, over on Zuckerberg, we usually move those kinds of childish hair-pulling fights over to the right thread. In this specific instance, the mods weren't around when the bickering started. By the time I showed up, things had already died down, so I didn't move anything. If the shouting match had kept going at that volume, I definitely would have stepped in.
In the end, we decided those posts should be moved to the appropriate spot, so they were.

Fine.

So, what insults are actually allowed then? What’s the actual criteria for deciding which insults fly and which ones don't?

I want to insult you, I just don't know how. image

I'll give you a tip if you help me out. Look, I've even got one specifically for the ladies. image

I'm itching to roast you here, I just don't know how to go about it without breaking a rule. image

I'll even give you a little kiss if you help me out. Seriously, I've even got a few good ones lined up for the ladies. image

As Rachel Ramos27 pointed out, there was a bit of an oversight here, but we've handled it by moving those heated posts over to the thread specifically meant for heavy debates.😁

Just because Zuckerberg allows for some sharper language and more intense arguments—and because our moderation style tends to be a bit more laid back—doesn't mean we're looking to encourage personal attacks or toxic behavior. That's definitely not the goal.

Deciding where to draw that line always falls on the moderators, but it's really up to all of you to try and stick to the community guidelines and just... you know, show some basic decency.

I think we can consider this whole situation wrapped up now.
