I realize that reporting this post won't change much, as the moderators here on the tourism board never seem to discipline Šatrunčika. It feels as though they've cultivated a specific little circle that calls all the shots.
I don't visit the tourism section very often, but whenever I do, the posts from certain Forum Users leave me feeling completely exhausted.
When will the moderators finally start doing their actual jobs?
I know I'll likely be the one penalized for speaking up, while Šatrunčika escapes without consequence—even when her posts include insults and political talk that has absolutely no place on a tourism board.

I read through the post, and honestly, I don't see any insults here. A Forum User is entitled to their opinion, just like you are.
The mods over in the tourism section are some of the best on this entire board.
I’ve actually started a few travel threads myself. And regarding Sandra Brown18, I can say with total confidence that she’s one of our top-tier moderators.

rustymason82 said:I honestly feel like we’re all just circling the drain here—not in a bad way, mind you!—but there's definitely a sense of déjà vu settling in. I was just thinking about how much things change, yet somehow stay exactly the same, which is a bit of a paradox, isn't it? Anyway, regarding what rustymason82 mentioned earlier—and I do agree with them, mostly—it feels like the whole conversation around tourism is shifting under our feet. It’s almost like watching a slow-motion replay where you know the outcome, but you’re still captivated by the movement. I was chatting with a friend the other day—she's a total Zagorje girl at heart, always talking about the countryside—and she was saying something similar about how people's expectations have totally evolved. It’s not just about visiting a place anymore; it’s about the *experience*, the vibe, the whole nine yards. And really, isn't that true for everything lately? We want depth! We want soul! But then again, maybe I'm just overthinking it. Perhaps I should stick to my coffee and leave the heavy lifting to the experts. Still, it’s fascinating to watch these patterns emerge, don't you think? It makes you wonder what we'll be discussing ten years from now when we look back on this very thread. Probably something equally complex, if not more so!

I know that reporting this post probably won't accomplish much—honestly, I'm not holding my breath! It feels like the moderators over on the tourism board never actually go after anyone like a Zagorje girl—they’ve basically built themselves this little perfect little society that suits them just fine, and they're more than happy to stay in control of it.
I don't find myself popping into the tourism section very often—it’s a bit of a rare visit for me—but whenever I do decide to drop by, honestly, I just end up feeling a little nauseous from reading all these posts by certain Forum Users. It’s quite overwhelming!
When are the moderators on the tourism board actually going to start doing their jobs?
I know I’m probably going to catch some heat from the moderators for my post on this thread—and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if I get penalized—but it feels like funny how certain people, like that Zagorje girl, seem to get a free pass? It’s just frustrating because her post is full of insults and political nonsense that has absolutely no business being discussed on a tourism forum!

You posted this on Saturday morning at exactly 9:02—I saw it! Then, by 9:12, you’re already throwing around these baseless assumptions—it only took you ten whole minutes! Just ten minutes! — honestly, sometimes that’s all it takes to change the whole vibe of a day, isn't it? Whether you're just getting settled or finally catching a breather, those tiny pockets of time really do add up! It’s already over! Honestly, with everything that’s gone down—and if you’re rarely even around the Tourism boards—why on earth do you think you’re in any position to claim she never gets penalized? It just doesn't add up. And besides, if the moderators don't happen to agree with your specific take, suddenly they "never do anything"? Give me a break! Well, listen, rustymason82—Happy Easter to you!

The moderators over in the tourism section are honestly some of the absolute best folks on this entire forum—really, they are!
I’ve actually posted quite a few travelogues here on the boards! And honestly—I can say this with absolute certainty—Sandra Brown18 is easily one of the best moderators on this entire forum.

Thanks so much for providing those lovely rhymes and that wonderful summary! 🙂 In my defense—and I really mean this—NN is clearly more popular, mostly because I’m out here handing out cards like candy! 😁 🤣

Happy Easter to you as well. I consider myself relevant because this isn't the first time she has gone unpunished; I actually reported one of her posts once before, and someone higher up finally took action (I believe it was Nica back then).
Just do your jobs, but the truth remains: you allow certain people far too much leeway.

I honestly have no clue. I haven't seen anyone get a warning on the Tourism board.
You were the one who helped me with the photos I posted in that travel thread I started on the travel boards🙂Okaloosa Island. :-)
Both you and NN do a great job letting the discussions actually breathe. A good moderator should be "invisible" and shouldn't stifle the conversation, which is exactly how you and NN handle things.

Just do your jobs, but let's be real: you're letting some people slide a little too often.

The mark of a good forum member is being able to reply to a colleague and shut them down with actual arguments, rather than just whining and starting new threads. ☕
Not every single flagged post needs an automatic penalty. If a moderator decides a post doesn't actually break any rules, then it shouldn't be sanctioned.
I’ve reported plenty of posts over in the politics section that didn't end up getting sanctioned. Honestly, if I started a new thread for every single post that didn't get a penalty, the admins would have to write a whole dedicated book just about my insignificance! :-)

I just want to know if I’m going to get penalized for saying something offensive about Dalmatians? Is it perfectly fine for a Zagorje girl to insult people with labels like peasant or serf, yet if someone says something similar about Dalmatians, they face punishment?
And where does she get the right to drive users away from the Guest Experiences thread? (Personally, I experienced this last year.) If that's the case, why not just rename the thread to "For Renters Only"?

I never claimed the moderators aren't doing their jobs on the Tourism board, but it’s an undeniable fact that certain things are tolerated when "old-timers" post, while those same actions aren't tolerated for newcomers or anyone who isn't a permanent fixture on the forum.

Not every single flagged post needs to result in a penalty. If a moderator decides a post doesn't actually violate any rules, then it shouldn't be sanctioned.
I've reported plenty of posts in the politics section that didn't lead to any action. Honestly, if I opened a new thread for every single report that went unpunished, the administration would have to print a massive manual just to document my insignificance! :-)

Of course I don't expect every reported post to be sanctioned.
But isn't it tragic that on the tourism board, it seems perfectly fine for people from the coast to insult residents from other parts of the USA, yet if those locals were to fight back, they'd be the ones punished?
And what about Šatrunčika? She isn't even penalized when she tries to drive other members away from a thread just because they disagree with her. It really feels like she can do whatever she wants on the tourism board.

rustymason82 said:Look, I'm not saying every single reported post needs to be slapped with a penalty. I don't expect that, honestly.

It’s honestly pretty sad how much leeway people give when it comes to tourism. You see folks from the coast constantly taking shots at people from other parts of the US, and it just gets brushed off. But if anyone from the coast decided to talk trash about them? They’d be penalized in a heartbeat. It's a total double standard.

It looks like Šatrunčika gets away with murder around here. She can kick anyone off the thread just because she doesn't like their take, and she never faces any consequences. Honestly, it feels like she just runs the Tourism board however she wants.

The moderator already got back to you. You reported the post and then immediately started a whole new thread. You can't really expect things to happen that fast! $0.00 They’ll be on the forum for 24 hours straight, so they'll see your registration right away! :-)
You could have just replied to your colleague directly instead of starting a whole new thread. Just because the moderators didn't jump on it immediately doesn't mean they aren't doing their jobs.

You could have just replied directly to your colleague instead of starting an entire thread over this. Is it really necessary to claim the moderators aren't doing their jobs just because they didn't react instantly?

I don't expect them to be glued to the forum 24/7. Based on what I've seen before, it's clear they don't apply the same standards to every Forum User, do they?
Listen, granitefalcon26, I can't help but notice that you don't seem to hold all the moderators to the same standard anymore. Didn't you used to complain quite a bit about how certain moderators were handling things?

But hey, granitefalcon26, it looks like you aren't exactly applying the same standards to all the moderators either? You’ve definitely complained about certain mods' work in the past.

Exactly. Some moderators are great, and some just aren't. And it wasn't just me complaining—plenty of users have felt the same way. Specifically, the thread about Ukraine isn't being handled very well.
Tourism is a completely different beast. I've been on this forum since 2008, and you're really the only user I know who's gone after the moderators on this specific board.☕

granitefalcon26 said:Tourism is an entirely different matter. I’ve been part of this forum since 2008, and you seem to be the only Forum User who has actually filed a complaint against the moderators of this board.☕

Just look at the numbers—how many users frequent the politics section compared to the tourism section?🤔
Does that mean if nobody else has complained yet, I’m somehow forbidden from doing so?
I am still standing by my original point. It feels as though certain users are being given a free pass in the tourism section to insult whoever they please without facing any consequences.
How long ago was it that that same Zagorje girl told me I had nothing worth contributing to a thread, or that people interested in that topic were just wasting their time?

granitefalcon26, everyone has a right to complain, and it isn't your job to decide if those complaints are valid. Please don't get caught up in everyone else's grievances.

rustymason82, moving forward, please wait 24 hours after reporting a post before opening a formal complaint here if there’s no response. If you're noticing a recurring issue on the PDF, you'll need to include multiple links as proof... otherwise, the administration can't really investigate claims like "this always happens" or "moderators often..." without concrete evidence to back them up.

Šatrunčika has been warned multiple times, so don't go claiming she’s being singled out. One day she got flagged just for photo size—before that, she had several warnings for insults and countless little reminders... I saw the post, but honestly, I've just been stuck on my phone the last few days.
Out of all the Forum Users during our time moderating, she and wob have definitely racked up the most strikes.
We don't play favorites based on where people are from—we're strictly against looking at regions.

Also, rustymason82 reported that post right around Easter, when there's a slim chance any of us are actually sitting "on duty" all day. I was checking the forum, but mostly on my phone—and doing things via mobile can be a total pain when you're trying to issue strikes or open messages.

Please hold off for 24 hours before responding to the appeal.

Yeah, I have to admit Harold Taylor6 is great too—just because he hands out more strikes doesn't mean I'm any better than him.😉
I even ask him to step in and handle a strike for me if I'm on my phone—say, if I'm out of town for the weekend—since it's such a hassle to do it through mobile... then Harold Taylor6 just jumps in and takes care of it.

Maybe I was a little too quick to react.
And honestly, I admit I probably jumped the gun by opening this thread so early.😵
But mark my words, I’ll be back to report it when she tries to tell me I have nothing left to say on a specific topic this summer. I'll post just out of pure spite—because who does she think she is, deciding who gets to speak and where?😁
I suppose this thread can be closed now...

Go ahead and report it. I’d prefer a DM over an email, but you can always use the flag icon for the mods.
