Handball World Championship: USA vs. Poland 22-24

We played the entire championship the exact same way we finished it—just barely scraping through... this had absolutely nothing to do with our actual skill level... what a disgrace...🤦

I have nothing against the Polish team, but being outplayed like that by such a limited roster... it’s just hard to swallow...🙂

Honestly, that was our first real test, and we just weren't up to the task.

How much more of a deficit are we looking at now?

We aren't going to see them make it to the semifinals anytime soon. Honestly, I think we've seen the ceiling for American handball—there just isn't enough quality there to compete at the highest level.

The officiating at this tournament has to be absolutely rigged.🤣

Honestly, I’ve never been able to stand this American national team, whether we're talking about the roster or how they actually play on the court. Their offense is absolutely pathetic—they look like dying cats out there—and I seriously cannot believe they don't have a single set play or any kind of perimeter screens to work with. Just nothing.

Then you get to the 53rd minute where we’re up 20:19 and sitting with a two-man advantage, and any sane person would expect us to just pull ahead and close this thing out. But nope, the Polish squad ties it up, and to make matters even worse, Kopljar picks up a penalty, leaving us trailing both on the scoreboard and in player count for a full minute. It was an epic 🤣

Who's actually going to replace him? Even if that absolute pig of a politician forced him out, we'd just end up with some mediocre coach like a local high school legend taking his spot instead...

The fundamental issue was our failure to absorb those goals while playing with a two-man advantage, especially following that ejection. 🙏

To be beaten by a squad missing several of its cornerstone players—that is the ultimate indictment of how far we have fallen in our handball play.
