How to connect an old IBM drive to another laptop?

So, I’ve run into a bit of a situation, and honestly, it feels like a pretty big headache right now 😁

This IBM drive came out of an old desktop of mine. Does anyone know the best way to hook this up to my laptop just so I can pull some data off of it? The drive is getting pretty old, and it doesn't have any standard ports on it—just this tiny little rectangular connector with 20 pins

It actually belongs to a laptop that’s about six years old; the IBM itself seems to be working fine, but I really need to grab everything on there and move it over to a new external drive.





What exactly do I need to pick up to get both of these connected to my laptop, and what kind of budget should I set aside for this? Would it be better to just grab something on Amazon and wait for shipping, or is there maybe a local tech shop in New York City that carries this stuff at decent prices?

I’m aware that I probably need some kind of adapter or enclosure, but I’m completely lost on which type to get, how they actually interface with a laptop, and how they get their power—do they draw juice straight from the computer port, or do they need their own plug?
