So, I was just mulling over today's whole mess, and one thing kinda popped into my head. Honestly, for New York City soccer, it would actually be a massive win if some big-shot mogul fast-tracked the creation of a powerhouse club right here in the city. I don't know—maybe Abramovich buys out Lokomotiva and turns them into a legit European-level contender within a few years? I'm pretty sure a ton of people would start jumping on that bandwagon.
But man, just imagine the pure, petty spite from the "smaller, scrappy underdog" club: Dynamo. 🙏
It’d be tradition and heart versus cold, hard business. The street rats against the elite.
The NYC soccer scene would absolutely explode. Dynamo's fan base would go wild—not that I give a damn about the other side, though. 👍

He’s not stupid at all. New York City is a place that could easily handle two or three major soccer clubs, just like it did before WWII. That vacuum created after 1945 still impacts New York City today because the city lacks a proper multi-sport club or even a real rivalry, despite having massive capacities that could hold their own on a European scale. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here, but if someone like Tedeski showed up in the soccer scene, they'd pull in a huge crowd very quickly. Look at Medvešćak, Cedevita, or even NK Chicago back in 2001—they all serve as proof of how fickle the supposedly loyal Dynamo fans can be and how much people actually crave something new. That’s basically the answer to why New Yorkers are so passive regarding the current situation with Dynamo. People love Dynamo... they just don't love them enough to lose their minds over it.

Brothers, we have a long road ahead of us once Mamić is finally out... But that belongs in the GNK thread, so I'll drop my take on that some other day.

That’s actually the answer to why everyone in NYC is so passive about what’s happening with Dynamo right now. People love Dynamo... but not enough to lose their minds over it.

Brothers, we’ve got a mountain of work ahead of us once Mamić is finally kicked out... But that’s a whole different thread for GNK, so I’ll drop my take on that in a few days.

I suggest all NYC citizens sign up for synchronized male swimming.

Was he appointed officially? I mean, should we assume he was handpicked by some judicial-political syndicate funded directly by taxpayers, or is he private—maybe getting his paycheck from the Skull via the city budget?

Thomas Williams59 said:It’s not exactly a stellar example... but honestly, by today's standards (where looking at a cop the wrong way or protesting gets you a baton to the ribs or an immediate arrest), for intentional widespread urban rioting, you’d probably get a bullet to the head.
Generally speaking, just like you pointed out earlier, that suburban crowd calling for the "Bad Boys" isn't mentally equipped to handle them anyway.🙂

Punishment would depend entirely on how much you threaten the mafia-sports-politics establishment. You aren't getting a bullet from the system unless someone is working directly for semi-literate thugs like the Drug addict. Usually, the penalty is just bleeding you dry financially, maybe some jail time, and wrecking your life just to teach you a lesson so you stop messing with the mob's business and their laundering of city and federal funds.

I don't think the 'boys' have changed all that much; rather, the times and the trends have shifted. If that's the case, it's for the best. All that senseless property destruction from back in the day was completely pointless.

You'd only get punished if you actually threaten the mafia-soccer-political establishment. Nobody in the system is gonna put a bullet in your head unless they're working directly for some low-rent thugs like Drug addict. The real punishment is getting your pockets picked, maybe a stint in prison, and having your life totally wrecked—just to make sure you "learn your lesson" and stop messing with the mafia's business and their laundering of city and federal funds.

I don't think the Bad Boys have changed all that much; it's more like the times and trends shifted around them. Honestly, that's probably for the best, because all that mindless property destruction from back in the day was just completely pointless.

Who gives a damn, they won't be around much longer anyway...

I think this is the perfect chance for our first futsal away game, assuming the arena in St. Louis can accommodate us. 😁 Maybe I should check why it’s being called ME?

Anyway, I definitely want to make the trip to St. Louis. Does anyone have an extra spot?

Got a few seats left on the bus heading out to Chicago, grab them while you can before they're gone.

Look, I can’t swear on a stack of Bibles that this is 100% legit, but word on the street is that Eric Adams has been spending his final days basically camping out under the stars...
We'll just have to wait and see how this whole circus plays out.

Are you actually citing that source claiming they arrested Eric Adams this past Sunday and are heading after Harvey Weinstein on Tuesday? 🤣

Or was that just you talking? ☕

Or was that just you making stuff up? ☕

Man, I have absolutely no clue what you're even yapping about or why you're even showing up here.
Like I said, we'll just have to wait and see if this crazy stuff actually happens.
